According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is anticipated to earn a new contract. Not only that, his new deal is expected to make him one of the NFL's highest-paid signal-callers. Of course, there are details both sides need to work out, although more intense discussions may not come until after the 2024 NFL Draft. The 25-year-old had some rough showings during the 2023-24 campaign. However, he still ended the year by throwing for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Love also led the Packers to the playoffs, with the team losing to the 49ers by three points during the NFC Divisional Round. While Green Bay's offense will look somewhat different come Week 1, Love easily has a top-10 fantasy upside, and it's also possible he will enter the elite quarterback conversation soon, assuming he hasn't already.
Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said that the team intends to sign quarterback Jordan Love to a long-term contract extension this offseason. Love had a successful first year as Green Bay's starter in 2023 and led the team to the Divisional Round of the playoffs after upsetting the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round. The 25-year-old signal-caller finished the regular season by completing 64.2 percent of his passes for 4,159 yards with 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions for a 96.1 passer rating. In the last eight games of the regular season, he completed 70.3% of his passes for 2,150 yards, 18 TDs and one interception. Love's performance was even more impressive, considering the lack of experience his receiving corps had. Entering the 2024 season, Love will have low-end QB1 appeal for fantasy managers as he looks to build on his first full season as a starter in the NFL.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love completed 21 of 34 passes for 194 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, adding five carries for three yards during the team's 21-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The 25-year-old kept the pressure on the No. 1 seeded 49ers until the game's final minute, where he tossed a game-ending interception. While Love was not incredible in the box score Saturday night, it does not take away from his fantastic season as a first-year starter. No one gave the Packers a shot to do much of anything this year, and they took one of the top three teams in the league to the limit in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. After finishing as a top-10 fantasy quarterback and a strong end to the regular season, Love will be one of the most interesting quarterbacks to watch in terms of draft value heading into the 2024 regular season.
The Green Bay Packers and quarterback Jordan Love are expected to re-engage in contract extension talks during the offseason, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 25-year-old has drastically exceeded expectations in his first season as the Packers' starter, leading them to the Divisional Round of the playoffs while completing 64.2 percent of his passes for 4,159 yards, 36 total touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He will presumably increase his asking price as the result of his big year, but Rapoport expects the two sides to reach an agreement anyway. As it currently stands, Love is under contract through 2024.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love will go on the road to take on the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs on Saturday. The 25-year-old was steller against the Cowboys last week, putting up 272 yards and three touchdowns against a team that was undefeated at home in 15 straight games. Love now heads into San Francisco to face a defense that has given up the eighth-fewest total fantasy points to quarterbacks this past regular season. Dallas was ranked ninth, so there is no reason that Love can't succeed for fantasy managers looking to take the shot on him in DFS lineups. All of the first-year starters' skill position players are healthy outside of AJ Dillon (neck, thumb), who is listed as questionable. Love will be a popular option in DFS tournaments due to his late-season success.
