Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith caught eight of 12 targets for 148 yards during the team's 9-32 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 25-year-old sat out of the regular season finale due to an ankle injury but looked no worse for wear Monday night. Without A.J. Brown (knee), Smith carried the Eagles' passing attack, but it was not enough for the team to overcome the Buccaneers. Smith went over 1000 yards and caught seven touchdowns for the second season in a row, and that was on a much lower target share than last season. He will remain a rock-solid WR2 in fantasy drafts come August.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (ankle) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Monday's playoff matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Smith sat out of the Week 18 loss to the New York Giants due to a mild ankle sprain. Luckily, Smith was able to get through full practice sessions this week. He appears to be a full-go for this game, which is great news for the Eagles offense that is without A.J. Brown (knee) for Monday's game. That being said, Smith will be the No. 1 wideout for this game and a strong DFS option.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith will go on the road to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first week of the NFL playoffs. The 25-year-old missed the first game of his NFL career last weekend against the New York Giants due to an ankle injury but has since been a full practice participant and should be good to go Monday night. The big story this weekend is A.J. Brown (knee), who is in danger of missing the game after not practicing all week. If he is inactive, Smith will be the clear top target and could see a massive workload against a Tampa Bay defense that ranked ninth in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers in 2023. At his price point, Smith will be a popular option in DFS regardless of Brown's status.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (ankle) was a full participant in practice for the second straight day on Friday. Smith hasn't had any restrictions during practice yet this week and looks primed to play on Monday night in the wild-card playoff contest versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after sitting out the Week 18 loss to the New York Giants. The 25-year-old sprained his right ankle in Week 17 but appears to be fully ready to go for wild-card weekend, where he could operate as quarterback Jalen Hurts' (finger) top wideout if A.J. Brown (knee) is limited or sidelined altogether. There are some questions as to how well Hurts will play a week after dislocating the middle finger on his right throwing hand, but fantasy managers would be more comfortable ignoring that with Smith in their DFS lineups if Brown is unable to play. Smith had his second straight 1,000-yard season with seven touchdowns during the regular season.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (ankle) was present for the team's first practice of the week on Thursday. Smith sprained his right ankle in Week 17 and was held out of the Week 18 regular season finale against the New York Giants. Now that Smith is back at practice, he plans to play in Monday night's wild-card playoff showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 25-year-old could have a bigger role upon his return as well, depending on the status of fellow wideout A.J. Brown (knee), who suffered a knee injury last Sunday and didn't practice on Thursday. Smith had his second straight 1,000-yard season in just his third year in the NFL, catching 81 passes and scoring seven touchdowns for the second straight season. If Brown is out or limited for wild-card weekend, Smith will become quarterback Jalen Hurts' (finger) top target. UPDATE: Smith was a full-go in Thursday's practice.
