Chris Olave Heading To The Locker Room

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (head) exited Sunday's divisional clash with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Olave made his first catch of the day, which was for five yards. However, the wideout took a hard hit, resulting in a Bucs scoop and score. Even worse, Olave was forced to undergo a concussion evaluation. With Derek Carr (oblique) and Taysom Hill (ribs) sidelined, the Saints can't afford another injury. With that in mind, Rashid Shaheed, Juwan Johnson, and Foster Moreau could see more targets from Spencer Rattler if Olave doesn't return. Alvin Kamara would also presumably see more attention as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. For now, fantasy managers should consider Olave as questionable to return.

Kendre Miller Won't Play Against Buccaneers

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) was activated from Injured Reserve but will not be active on Sunday for the Week 6 divisional affair against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to a source. It's good news that Miller is off IR after missing the first five weeks of the season, but his next chance to make his 2024 debut will come next Thursday to kick off Week 7 action against the Denver Broncos. The 22-year-old former TCU star has been a huge disappointment early in his career with the Saints due to injuries. In 2023, he played in just eight games and had 41 carries for 156 yards and a touchdown while adding 10 receptions for 117 yards through the air. The Saints will ease him into the backfield when he eventually makes his season debut as depth behind Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams. Miller belongs on the waiver wire in most fantasy formats.

Kendre Miller Activated Ahead Of Week 6

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) has been activated off the injured reserve ahead of the Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Miller is set to make his season debut on Sunday after missing the first five games due to a hamstring issue. It'll be interesting to see how the Saints get Miller involved in their rushing attack. Alvin Kamara figures to continue getting the bulk of the carries, which leaves Jamaal Williams and Miller with only a few touches. Possibly, the Saints go with a run-heavy approach now that quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) is sidelined. That could give Miller more value, but for now he's worth stashing but not someone that should be started with Kamara healthy.

Kendre Miller Likely To Be Activated In Week 6

New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) is expected to be activated off the injured reserve ahead of the Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Miller appears to be set to make his season debut on Sunday. He figures to be mixed in as depth behind Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams. So far, Kamara has seen a heavy workload with nearly 20 carries per game. Possibly, the Saints gameplan changes with quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) being sidelined for a few weeks. Miller might find his way into a weekly role if New Orleans goes to a heavy run set. For now, Miller won't be worth stashing with Kamara and Williams healthy.

Blake Grupe Offers Little Promise In Week 6

New Orleans Saints kicker Blake Grupe went without a field goal attempt for the first time this season in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Grupe went 1-for-2 on extra point attempts in the game, making it his second missed point through the first five weeks of the season. Grupe's sophomore season started with a bang as he hit four field goals (including two 50-yarders) in Week 1 and benefited from the Saints' early offensive explosion by knocking home 10 extra points over their first two games. However, Grupe has not reached double-digit fantasy points since Week 1, and there's no reason to believe he is due for a big turnout in Week 6. The expected point total for the NFC South matchup against the Buccaneers is a mere 42 points, which is among the lowest on Sunday's slate. Grupe is not a bad option, per se, but fantasy managers can probably find a more promising option elsewhere.
