Justin Jefferson Goes Out With Big Game In Week 18

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson absolutely dominated in the regular season finale on Sunday against the Detroit Lions in a 30-20 loss, catching 12 of his 14 targets for 192 yards and a touchdown. He also had one carry for a loss of 12 yards. It was a tough season for the 24-year-old and fantasy managers that took him in the first round, as he was only able to play in 10 games due to a hamstring injury that kept him sidelined from Weeks 6-12. Despite missing seven games, Jefferson still managed a 1,000-yard season with 68 receptions on 100 targets for five touchdowns. It was even more impressive that he did it with four different quarterbacks in 2023. Even with Kirk Cousins' future in Minnesota uncertain, Jefferson has proven that he's one of the best receivers, if not the best, in all of football.

Daniel Jones Expects To Be Ready For Training Camp

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (knee) said he's continuing to rehab his knee and plans to be ready to play by the start of training camp. Jones tore his ACL in early November, ending his season. Giants' GM Joe Schoen noted that the team plans to continue to build around Jones, but understands that he may not be ready to play in Week 1. The Giants own the sixth-overall pick in the NFL Draft and may use that asset to select another franchise quarterback.

Sam Darnold Scores Twice In Week 18 Loss

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Sam Darnold took all the snaps under center in Sunday's 21-20 home loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The former first-round pick got his only start of the season with regular starter Brock Purdy resting in a game the 49ers entered having already nailed down the No.1 playoff seed in the NFC. Darnold completed 16 of 26 attempts for 189 yards passing and one touchdown. He also added seven carries for 19 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Sunday's game was a decent showcase for Darnold as he'll be a free agent this summer hoping to sign somewhere with a chance to compete for a starting job in 2024.

Aaron Jones Clears 100 Yards For Third Week In A Row

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones took 22 carries for 111 yards and caught all five of his targets for a gain of 30 yards during Sunday's 17-9 win over the Chicago Bears. The veteran has gained more than 100 yards on the ground in the third week in a row. The only thing missing for Jones was a touchdown, a feat he has not achieved since Week 9. While this past season was filled with injuries for the 29-year-old, he is heating up at the right time and will look to parlay his recent success into another monster game next week when the Packers take on the Dallas Cowboys. Jones will be a popular addition to daily fantasy rosters during Wild Card weekend next week.

Ty Chandler Not A Reliable Option For Finale

Minnesota Vikings running back Ty Chandler can be left on the bench in most fantasy leagues ahead of his Week 18 game versus the Detroit Lions. A variety of factors contribute to Chandler's lack of reliability this week, including a very difficult matchup. The Lions' defense has surrendered the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs, holding them to an average of just 58.4 rushing yards per game. Furthermore, Chandler continues to split snaps with Alexander Mattison. The 25-year-old played just 57 percent of offensive snaps last week, accruing 40 rushing and 24 receiving yards. Fantasy managers preparing for the final week of the season should look elsewhere for production at the running back position.
