NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe threw cold water on the idea that the Miami Dolphins could take a quarterback in Round 1 of the upcoming NFL draft. Instead, Wolfe thinks the team will go after either an offensive or defensive lineman at pick No. 21 overall. Wolfe said he'd "be shocked" if the Dolphins took a signal-caller in the first or second round this year. In addition to their offensive and defensive-line needs, the Dolphins could also use help at tight end. Don't forget that the Dolphins have only two picks in the top 150 this year, so spending a luxury pick on a QB seems like a reach if they plan on eventually extending Tagovailoa for the long term. Although nothing is official with an extension for Tagovailoa yet, all signs point to him staying in Miami long-term, so it would make sense for the Dolphins to hone in on more protection for him early in this year's draft.

Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier told reporters on Tuesday that the team plans to pick up the fifth-year options for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and pass-rusher Jaelan Phillips prior to the deadline. These moves don't come as much of a surprise, especially for Waddle, after he put up his third straight 1,000-yard season in 2023 to begin his NFL career. The 25-year-old is the first pass-catcher to do that in franchise history, and it's even more impressive doing it alongside All-Pro wideout Tyreek Hill the last two years. Hill's presence limits Waddle's overall fantasy upside, but he's proven these last two seasons that there's still plenty to go around for Waddle in Miami's high-octane offense. Waddle will now be guaranteed to stick in Miami for the next two seasons.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa reiterated that he will not hold out as he looks for a long-term contract extension and plans on attending voluntary organized team activities this spring. The Dolphins are saying that they prefer to extend Tagovailoa, but as things stand now, the 26-year-old former first-rounder is set to play the 2024 season on the fifth-year option from his rookie deal. Despite leading the NFL with 4,624 passing yards while throwing a career-high 29 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 2023 in his fourth year in the league, Tagovailoa was only the QB9 at the end of the year in fantasy points because of his lack of rushing at the position. As long as he has receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to throw to, Tagovailoa will be on the midrange to low-end QB1 map, but his overall upside is lacking.

Free-agent wide receiver River Cracraft announced on social media that he re-signed an undisclosed deal with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday. Cracraft will return to Miami in 2024 for his third year with the team. In the last two seasons in South Beach, he had 18 receptions on 26 targets for 223 yards and three touchdowns in 21 regular-season games (one start) while providing receiver depth behind Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Erik Ezukanma. The 29-year-old has had his share of injuries as well and will be completely off the fantasy radar this fall. Cracraft entered the NFL in 2018 with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Washington State and has 25 career catches for 308 yards and three scores on 37 targets in his six NFL campaigns.

The Cleveland Browns have signed quarterback Tyler Huntley to a one-year deal on Sunday. It's a bit surprising to see the Baltimore Ravens let Huntley walk away considering he has been a viable option for them over the last few seasons. During his career, Huntley has thrown for 1,957 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions, adding 509 rushing yards to his total as well. Huntley also started a playoff game for the Ravens during the 2022 season against the Cincinnati Bengals. Now, the 26-year-old will get a chance to compete for the backup job in Cleveland. He'll have plenty of competition with Jameis Winston and Dorian Thompson-Robinson also trying to secure a backup quarterback spot on the Browns.
