Royce Freeman Offers Upside In Week 18

Los Angeles Rams running back Royce Freeman has an opportunity to lead the backfield with Kyren Williams being rested. Freeman was given an increased role when Williams went on injured reserve earlier this season and impressed. The 27-year-old has carried the ball 73 times for 317 yards and two touchdowns on the ground this season. He beat out Darrell Henderson Jr. and has proven to be the best pure runner when Williams is out. Facing the San Francisco 49ers in Week 18, consider Freeman as a cheap DFS dart throw and RB4 in fantasy leagues.

Ronnie Rivers Looking At Increased Opportunity

Los Angeles Rams running back Ronnie Rivers could benefit greatly from the team resting key starters in Week 18. Lead-back Kyren Williams is expected to be rested giving Rivers and other backs on the team a chance to showcase what they can do. Rivers will be competing with veteran Royce Freeman and rookie Zach Evans for touches out of the backfield. They will be facing the San Francisco 49ers in Week 18, who have clinched the top seed in the NFC and could rest key defensive players. The 24-year-old is worth a dart throw in DFS but should not be considered in many other formats this week.

Tyler Higbee Won't Play In Regular Season Finale

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (shoulder), who suffered a dislocated shoulder in the Week 17 win over the New York Giants, will not play in the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. In addition to Higbee, the Rams will rest quarterback Matthew Stafford, running back Kyren Williams and wide receiver Cooper Kupp, and they could also limit other players' snaps. The Rams are locked into either the No. 6 or 7 seed in the NFC and want to keep their best players healthy heading into the postseason. The 31-year-old Higbee's injury could be serious enough to put him in jeopardy for the wild-card round next week. In a contest that will feel more like a preseason game on Sunday, rookie tight end Davis Allen could be busy with quarterback Carson Wentz running the show for the Rams' offense.

Tyler Higbee Misses Wednesday Practice With Shoulder Injury

Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday as his team began preparing to take on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 18. Higbee has already been ruled out of action for this Sunday as the Rams already have a playoff spot locked up and have nothing to play for in Week 18. Rookie tight end Davis Allen will step into the starting role with Higbee sidelined. Allen started for an injured Higbee back in Week 14 and caught four passes for 50 yards and a touchdown, making him an interesting low-cost DFS target this weekend.

Cooper Kupp To Rest Up In Week 18

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp will be held out of the Week 18 contest versus the San Francisco 49ers. The Rams are choosing to rest Kupp, quarterback Matthew Stafford, running back Kyren Williams and defensive tackle Aaron Donald despite the fact that they could fall to the No. 7 seed in the NFC with a loss this weekend. Kupp thus finishes his 2023 season with 59 catches on 95 targets for 737 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games played. He put up slightly better numbers in 2022 despite playing in three fewer games, making this year a pretty big disappointment after missing the first four games of the year due to an injury suffered in training camp. With Kupp resting in Week 18, rookie Puka Nacua, Demarcus Robinson and Tutu Atwell will have bigger roles, albeit with Carson Wentz throwing them the pigskin.
