Los Angeles Chargers wide receivers Ladd McConkey (hip) and D.J. Chark (groin) were both limited practice participants for the second time this week on Friday. With wideout Quentin Johnston (ankle) and tight end Hayden Hurst (groin) both listed as DNP, Los Angeles will hope to have at least one of Chark Jr. and McConkey ready for their Monday Night Football matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. The former returned to practice this week for the first time since being designated for injured reserve before the season opener and looks to taste his first action of 2024. The latter briefly exited the team's Week 6 win over the Denver Broncos with a head injury, but the hip ailment is new and must be monitored. Wide receiver Simi Fehoko returned to full practice and would be in line for an uptick in snaps if Chark Jr., McConkey, and Johnston cannot play. Also, Brenden Rice and Derius Davis would work behind Joshua Palmer in the matchup.
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston (ankle) was tagged with a second DNP ahead of the team's Week 7 road matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Tight end Hayden Hurst (groin) was also a back-to-back DNP. The 23-year-old WR picked up an ankle injury in the Chargers' Week 6 victory over the Denver Broncos and did not return to the contest. With fellow wideouts Ladd McConkey (hip) and D.J. Chark Jr. (groin) logging limited sessions thus far, Los Angeles could be looking at a severely depleted wide-receiving corps on Monday Night Football. Simi Fehoko, Joshua Palmer, Brenden Rice, and Derius Davis are the only active receivers without a designation
Los Angeles Chargers wide receivers Ladd McConkey (hip), DJ Chark (groin) and Simi Fehoko (groin, shoulder) were all limited in practice on Thursday. In addition, Quentin Johnston (ankle) was a DNP, so LA's receiving corps is pretty banged up heading into a Monday night matchup against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7. Chark returned to practice this week for the first time since landing on Injured Reserve before the season opener, but it's unclear if he'll be activated this weekend in order to make his 2024 debut against the Cardinals. Whenever the 28-year-old does return, he'll merely be fighting for targets behind Johnston, McConkey and Joshua Palmer. The rookie McConkey has been quarterback Justin Herbert's favorite target and has 19 catches for 219 yards and two TDs in his first five NFL games. If he's active, fantasy managers should treat him as a WR3/flex against the Cardinals.
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston (ankle) was held out of the team's first practice of the week on Thursday due to an ankle injury that he suffered in the Week 6 win over the division-rival Denver Broncos. The Chargers wideout corps is pretty banged up heading into a Monday night tilt this week against the Arizona Cardinals, with rookie Ladd McConkey (hip) and Simi Fehoko (groin, shoulder) also on the Week 7 injury report. The 23-year-old Johnston should be considered questionable for now, although he has two more days to get back on the practice field. Johnston was a waiver-wire pickup after scoring three touchdowns in Weeks 2 and 3, but since then, he's caught only four passes for 31 yards in two contests. If he's active against Arizona, he'll be a touchdown-dependent WR5/flex in a run-first offense.
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver DJ Chark (hip) is set to have his practice window open on Wednesday, according to Kris Rhim of ESPN. Chark has been on the injured reserve since the opening week with a hip injury. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status during practice this week as he could make his 2024 season debut on Monday evening against the Arizona Cardinals. Last season, Chark caught 35 passes for 525 yards and five scores with the Carolina Panthers. When Chark returns, he should compete for targets with Joshua Palmer, Quentin Johnson, and Ladd McConkey and should be left on all waiver wires for now.
