Isiah Pacheco Listed As DNP Wednesday

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (ankle, toe) was listed as a non-participant on the team's estimated practice report for Wednesday. Pacheco sat out two practices last week but was active in the AFC Championship win over the Baltimore Ravens despite getting a questionable tag leading up to the contest. The 24-year-old second-year back had 28 touches in Sunday's win over Baltimore and found the end zone for the third straight playoff game. Pacheco should be just fine for the Super Bowl on Feb. 11 against the San Francisco 49ers and will continue to see most of the backfield touches for KC. His high volume share gives him a high fantasy floor, and he'll be facing a Niners defense that has been susceptible against the run of late.

Kareem Hunt Undergoes Sports-Hernia Surgery

Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt (hernia) recently had sports-hernia surgery to fix a ruptured adductor, according to sources. Hunt played in 15 games in his fifth year with the Browns in 2023, but he was listed on the injury report often with a groin injury and averaged a career-low 3.0 yards per carry on 135 attempts for 411 rushing yards and a career-high nine rushing TDs in the regular season. He added a career-low 15 receptions for 84 yards through the air. The 28-year-old's lower numbers now make more sense, but he still had plenty of fantasy appeal as a flex play because of his red-zone usage and nose for the end zone. Hunt could be more effective with better health in 2024, but he's also scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent. His fantasy appeal will depend on where he lands, and there's a good chance it won't be in Cleveland.

Isiah Pacheco Fights Off Injuries, Scores Sunday

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco (ankle/toe) gutted out multiple injuries to handle his bell-cow role in Sunday's 17-10 AFC Championship victory over the Baltimore Ravens, taking 24 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown and adding 14 yards on four catches. Formally listed as questionable on Sunday, Pacheco suited up for his squad in a win-or-go-home game but mustered just 2.9 yards per touch. His workload unaffected by ankle and toe issues that cost him two practices this week, the second-year back took 28 of a possible 31 RB opportunities as he continues to entrench himself as K.C.'s workhorse. The banged-up Pacheco may have experienced tough sledding against a tough Ravens defense, but he was able to barrel his way into the end zone for a two-yard scoring plunge in the second quarter. Pacheco will have two weeks to rest up before the Chiefs battle the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11.

Rashee Rice Loses Touchdown On Holding Penalty

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice helped keep the team on schedule as they topped the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 in Sunday's AFC Championship tilt, gathering eight of his nine targets for 46 yards. Rice collected six of his seven passes for 41 yards in the first half, but he missed out on a much bigger day after witnessing a 33-yard catch-and-run touchdown wiped out by a holding penalty as the second quarter wound down. The 23-year-old rookie's lone failed hookup was a deep pass, an area of his game he will likely be working to improve on this offseason. Playing with a lead and stymieing Lamar Jackson all day, K.C.'s offense didn't need to do much in the second half. After tallying 47 yards in the Divisional Round, Rice will be looking for more room to roam when he gets his first taste of Super Bowl action and the Chiefs hunt for the Lombardi Trophy against the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in two weeks time.

Travis Kelce Breaks All-Time Record For Playoff Catches

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce dominated as the team downed the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 in Sunday's AFC Championship contest, catching all 11 of his targets for 116 yards and a touchdown. Kelce's second half may have been quiet, but his monster first half had a little bit of everything. The 34-year-old All-Pro came down with a clutch fourth-down pass, showed off tremendous body control to reel in his score, made a bit of a circus catch with quarterback Patrick Mahomes on the run, and set a new postseason record for all-time receptions by passing Jerry Rice on his seventh grab. Kelce hauled in each of his nine targets for 96 yards before calming down, but Sunday marked his first outing with double-digit catches since Week 7. With the win, Kelce and the Chiefs moved on to their fourth Super Bowl in the last five years and will defend their crown when they meet the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas on Feb. 11 for the big game.
