Jordan Love Injured On Friday Night

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (undisclosed) exited Friday's meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles. The signal-caller played most of the contest. However, he took a hit with seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and needed help off the field due to what appeared to be a lower leg injury. Love would finish the night by throwing for 260 yards, two touchdowns, and one pick off 17-for-34 passing before being replaced by Malik Willis, who failed to connect on his only pass attempt. Without question, fantasy managers will anxiously await an update on his condition. Fortunately, the Packers have time before the Week 2 matchup with the Colts. With that in mind, there should be word on Love's injury soon.

MarShawn Lloyd Inactive For Packers Against Eagles

Green Bay Packers running back MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) is inactive for Friday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. To fill the gap, the Packers have promoted Ellis Merriweather from the practice squad. Lloyd, who is recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in the preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns, has not played in the last two preseason games but was seen at practice this week. With Lloyd sidelined, Emanuel Wilson, who has also been dealing with a hip injury, will serve as Josh Jacobs's primary backup. Jacobs, a key offseason acquisition for the Packers with a four-year, $48 million contract, is expected to carry the bulk of the workload in the backfield. Given the circumstances, Jacobs should be considered an RB1 for this week's matchup against the Eagles.

Romeo Doubs Good To Go For Friday Night In Brazil

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs (hand), who was limited in the team's first two practices of the week on Tuesday and Wednesday, returned to a full practice on Thursday and was removed from the final Week 1 injury report. Doubs will be active for Friday night's season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil. The 24-year-old's hand injury could make it tougher for him to come down with contested catches on Friday, but it ultimately never really put him in danger of missing the season opener. Most fantasy managers are probably overlooking Doubs in Green Bay's crowded receiver's room, but if everything breaks his way, he could end up being the Packers' most productive wideout when all is said and done in 2024. The former fourth-rounder had a healthy eight TDs in 17 regular-season games last year and will head into Week 1 as an upside WR4/flex play in lineups.

MarShawn Lloyd, Emanuel Wilson, Tucker Kraft Questionable For Friday

The Green Bay Packers have listed running backs MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring) and Emanuel Wilson (hip), along with tight end Tucker Kraft (back), as questionable for Friday night's game against the Eagles. Lloyd has been managing a hamstring injury throughout the summer, while Wilson and Kraft's injuries are more recent, with both being full participants as recently as Tuesday's practice. Lloyd, a non-participant on Tuesday, returned as a limited participant for Thursday's walkthrough. Both positions are now major concerns for the team. Running backs AJ Dillon and tight end Tyler Davis were placed on season-ending injured reserve during roster cuts. With Lloyd and Wilson injured, the only healthy running back on the 53-man roster is free-agent signing Josh Jacobs, who has yet to see action for the Packers. The tight end position is also thin; if Kraft is unavailable, the team will have only Luke Musgrave and Ben Sims left at the position. If Lloyd and Kraft cannot play, the roles of Jacobs and Musgrave would significantly increase.

Brayden Narveson Ready To Debut For Packers In Week 1 Against Eagles

Green Bay Packers kicker Brayden Narveson will put on a Packers uniform for the first time in a very unique way: playing in a regular season opener in Brazil against the Philadelphia Eagles. Narveson spent his preseason with the Tennessee Titans and was released a little over a week ago after losing the kicking competition to veteran Nick Folk. When the Packers' kicking job was still unsettled after the preseason, Narveson was scooped up by the Packers as the team released both second-year kicker Anders Carlson and veteran Greg Joseph. Now the Packers' kicker heading into Week 1, Narveson has a short leash but a booming leg that could help him when the weather turns cold. As a career 78% field goal kicker in college with Iowa State, Western Kentucky, and N.C. State, Narveson should have some solid opportunity in the early going with the Packers but is probably more of a wait-and-see fantasy kicker in Week 1. If he comes out of the gates strong, he's worth a speculative add.
