David Montgomery Excels With Major Volume Again In Week 3

Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery rushed 23 times for 105 yards and one touchdown during Week 3 versus the Arizona Cardinals. He also caught all three of his targets for an additional 17 yards through the air. Montgomery has looked incredible so far this season, totaling 285 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns. He has found the end zone in each of the Lions' three games so far, producing even more fantasy points than fellow running back Jahmyr Gibbs. As the Lions continue to emphasize winning games through the rushing attack, Montgomery remains a fringe RB1 option in fantasy football. He's a must-start running back for Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Sam LaPorta Has A Sprained Ankle

According to Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell, tight end Sam LaPorta (ankle) suffered a sprain during Sunday's win over the Cardinals. The 23-year-old was carted to the locker room, so fantasy managers were expecting the worst. However, he returned to the field in the second half, although he was still visibly hobbled by the ailment. LaPorta has underperformed through the Lions' first three games of the year, catching only eight passes for 94 yards. The 2023 No. 34 overall pick shouldn't be considered a lock to suit up in Week 4 versus the Seahawks. Brock Wright, who finished Week 3 with four catches for 34 yards, would likely draw streaming interest if LaPorta isn't out there for that one. Fantasy managers should monitor things throughout the week.

Sam LaPorta Returns On Sunday

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta (undisclosed) returned to Sunday's game against the Cardinals. There wasn't much information about the injury when it happened, although it didn't look good, considering LaPorta was taken to the locker room on a cart. Surprisingly, he's back in. With that in mind, there will still be more information on LaPorta's injury. There's also a chance he appears on the injury report for the Week 4 game versus the Seahawks. If he can't go for that one, Brock Wright would presumably take over as the team's starting tight end.

Sam LaPorta Carted To The Locker Room

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta (undisclosed) was carted to the locker room in Sunday's matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. Details are limited at this time. However, his day is likely over. If that's the case, he'll finish with two catches for 36 yards. LaPorta struggled in the two games entering Week 3, amassing six catches for 68 yards. There will likely be an update soon. In the meantime, Brock Wright could be in line for more attention from Jared Goff.

Tim Patrick Elevated For Week 3

Detroit Lions wide receiver Tim Patrick has been elevated from the practice squad ahead of the Week 3 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Patrick is back on the active roster for the second week in a row. Last week, Patrick hauled in two of his four targets for 12 yards in the loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 30-year-old can only be elevated one more time following Sunday's game, after which the Lions have to sign him to the active roster if he want him to play. Patrick might end up sticking on the team as depth, but probably won't have much of a role behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams in this offense.
