Brock Wright Could Enter DFS Radar Against Buccaneers

Detroit Lions tight end Brock Wright caught just 13 passes for 91 yards and a touchdown during the regular season, but if Sam LaPorta (knee) cannot suit up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, he will enter the DFS radar. LaPorta suffered a minor knee injury in the Week 18 win over the Minnesota Vikings, but he ultimately played and scored a touchdown in the win over the Los Angeles Rams in the first round of the NFL Playoffs. He logged a full practice on Wednesday this week but was downgraded to limited practices on Thursday and Friday. There's a chance he suffered a setback, which could explain why he's listed as questionable for the Divisional Round. If Wright draws the start, he could have limited upside, but he's a fine dart throw against a Tampa Bay defense that allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to the position in the regular season.

Kalif Raymond To Miss Another Game

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kalif Raymond (knee) has been ruled out for the Divisional Round of the playoffs on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Raymond also missed the wild-card win over the Los Angeles Rams last weekend after he injured his knee in the Week 18 regular season finale. The 29-year-old wouldn't have really been on the fantasy radar for DFS contests this weekend if he was active, and the Lions will likely miss him most on special teams. It remains to be seen if Raymond would be ready to play in the NFC Championship if Detroit advances past the Bucs. With Raymond out again, second-year wideout Jameson Williams will have a bigger role as Detroit's No. 3 behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Josh Reynolds. Fantasy managers shouldn't have high hopes for Williams unless he can break one of his few touches for an explosive touchdown-scoring play.

Sam LaPorta Listed As Questionable

Detroit Lions rookie tight end Sam LaPorta (knee) is officially listed as questionable to play on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. LaPorta suffered a hyperextended knee and a bone bruise in the Week 18 regular season finale but then played through a questionable tag in the wild-card win over the Los Angeles Rams. In that game, the 23-year-old played 80 percent of the offensive snaps and found the end zone on three catches. We'd be surprised if he wasn't active against the Buccaneers, a team that allowed the second-most half-PPR points to opposing TEs during the regular season. LaPorta was the top-scoring fantasy tight end in 2023, but he's going to carry some more risk in DFS this weekend because of his knee. DraftKings has him listed at $5,900, the second-most expensive TE behind Travis Kelce.

Kalif Raymond Misses Another Practice Thursday

Detroit Lions wide receiver Kalif Raymond (knee) missed his second straight practice of the week on Thursday. Raymond injured his knee in the Week 18 regular season finale, didn't practice at all last week and was held out of the wild-card win over the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday night. The fact that the 29-year-old still hasn't returned to practice means he's likely to miss a second straight game this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Raymond apparently is doing better than he was last week, but even if he's able to play this weekend, he's not realistic DFS option as a depth receiver and kick returner on special teams. Second-year wideout Jameson Williams should have more opportunities if Raymond misses another game, but the 22-year-old managed just two catches for 19 yards in his postseason debut in the wild-card round.

Sam LaPorta Downgraded To Limited Thursday

Detroit Lions rookie tight end Sam LaPorta (knee) was downgraded to a limited practice participant on Thursday after he was listed as a full participant on Wednesday. Instead of suffering a setback with his hyperextended knee, the Lions were most likely resting the 23-year-old after he played through his knee injury in last weekend's wild-card win over the Los Angeles Rams. LaPorta played 45 of 56 offensive snaps last Sunday and caught all three of his targets for 14 yards and a touchdown. Unless he suffers a setback in practice on Friday, LaPorta should be good to go for the Divisional Round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Even though the Buccaneers have been gouged by opposing tight ends all year, LaPorta will still carry plenty of risk as the second-most expensive TE on DraftKings for this weekend, behind only Travis Kelce.
