Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was held out of the Week 9 loss due to disciplinary reasons, but the veteran is expected back in the lineup for Week 10's matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. Elliott is completely off the fantasy radar after ceding the lead-back role to Rico Dowdle. Furthermore, Philadelphia's defense ranks third against opposing running backs. Elliott can be left on the waiver wire and should not be in any lineups this week.
Dallas Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle has captured the lead role in the backfield over the past few weeks, but the offense may lose some efficiency with quarterback Dak Prescott (hamstring) set to miss at least the next four games. Dowdle should see significant volume coming off of an RB1 finish a week ago, but the matchup against Philadelphia's third-ranked run defense is far from ideal. He can be considered a flex option with a fairly lower floor than usual this week.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush has been thrust into the starting role with Dak Prescott (hamstring) headed to injured reserve. The 30-year-old career backup has played well in place of Prescott in the past, but Sunday's matchup against a stingy Philadelphia secondary is not the spot to trust him in. Rush grades as a high-end QB3 this week and can be considered as a QB2 option in deep leagues.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) went through a second straight limited practice on Thursday while battling a shoulder sprain that he suffered in the Week 9 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Lamb said he will not wear a brace on Sunday against the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles and that he's been feeling good. Specifically, the 25-year-old has an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder, but he's expected to play this weekend. However, given his injury and the fact that he'll now be taking throws from backup quarterback Cooper Rush with Dak Prescott (hamstring) injured, Lamb's fantasy stock is on the decline heading into Week 10 and beyond. Still, Lamb is probably a better upside option than most WR3/flex choices fantasy managers may have. It's a tough matchup to boot, as the Eagles defense has allowed the second-fewest half-PPR points to wideouts in the last three weeks.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (hamstring) has been initially diagnosed with a torn hamstring partially off the bone. NFL Network has reported that the timeline for an injury of that severity is longer than the four week stint on injured reserve. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced on Tuesday that Prescott was a candidate for injured reserve. If this diagnosis rings true, then the Cowboys will almost certainly place Prescott on injured reserve. Prescott is currently seeking additional opinions to determine the next steps. For now, quarterback Cooper Rush is in line to start this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Prescott's injury will impact the fantasy outlook of wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (shoulder). It will also affect running back Rico Dowdle who had started to emerge as a viable weekly fantasy option. Fantasy managers should observe closely to see how the offense fares with Rush under center in Week 10.
