Maxi Kleber DVOA, Advanced Stats, & Fantasy Rankings

Dallas Mavericks forward/center Maxi Kleber (back) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Hornets. Kleber returned to action Sunday against Houston after missing one game. However, he is still dealing with back spasms. Against the Rockets, the 32-year-old played 30 minutes and registered nine points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a block in the win. Daniel Gafford and Dwight Powell could see an uptick in minutes if Kleber cannot suit up.

Kleber had a decent showing in Thursday's win over Atlanta, finishing with seven points, six boards, and one block in 21 minutes. But he'll sit this one out because of back spasms. There's also a chance Dwight Powell gets some action, although he's hard to trust from a fantasy standpoint.

If the big man is unavailable, Dereck Lively and Daniel Gafford would likely see more action than usual. Kleber has played in just 33 contests this season, averaging 20.9 minutes per game while posting 4.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.6 blocks. He should not be considered an option for fantasy play on Monday.

Kleber's availability gives Dallas an extra body to combat the Heat's star center Bam Adebayo. Offensively, he's not expected to have a major role, especially considering his recent awful form. Kleber hasn't hit a single shot in his last three appearances, posting only three total points. He's also been quite passive on the boards over the stretch, getting just 2.7 rebounds.
