Milwaukee Bucks small forward Khris Middleton (ankle) will not play in Thursday's preseason finale against Dallas. Last week, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers hoped to have Middleton available for the team's final two preseason games, but the former All-Star will end up missing the entire preseason slate. Middleton continues to nurse injuries to both ankles and didn't practice on Wednesday. However, he is still expected to be available for Milwaukee's regular-season opener on Oct. 23 versus Philadelphia. Taurean Prince will likely replace Middleton in the starting unit if he doesn't recover in time. At the same time, there should also be extra playing time available for Pat Connaughton and Bobby Portis.
Milwaukee Bucks small forward Khris Middleton (ankle) might be available for a pair of games before preseason finishes. Bucks head coach Doc Rivers believes Middleton could be ready for the team's final two preseason games, although he's added that there is "no guarantee" regarding his availability. Milwaukee completes its preseason slate next week against Chicago and Dallas, with the games scheduled for Monday and Thursday. Middleton had surgeries on both ankles in the offseason and hasn't yet participated in full practices during training camp and preseason.
Milwaukee Bucks guard/forward Khris Middleton (ankle) underwent procedures on both ankles during the offseason and he has yet to be cleared to partake in five-on-five action, according to Chris Haynes. Middleton is progressing and is expected to be included in most camp activities, but he wouldn't be cleared to play an actual preseason game just yet. The 33-year-old appeared in 88 regular-season games over the last two seasons as he's dealt with a series of different injuries. Last year, he averaged 15.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists across 27.0 minutes per game. If healthy, Middleton is one of the better wings in the Eastern Conference, but as he's getting older, his health has been the biggest question mark.
According to ESPN's Jamal Collier, Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton (ankles) is anticipated to be ready for the start of the 2024-25 campaign. The 33-year-old averaged 15.1 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.7 rebounds last season. He also shot 38.1% from deep, his highest since 2020-21. However, after Middleton appeared in only 33 games in 2022-23, he appeared in 55 last season and underwent surgeries on both ankles over the summer. That said, the 2012 No. 39 overall pick needs to stay healthy for the Bucks to consider themselves a championship-caliber club. He'll also need to find out how to avoid the injury report. Until then, Middleton will remain a risky fantasy option no matter what round he's drafted heading into the year.
Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton had 14 points in Thursday's loss to the Pacers. He added four boards, three assists, and two steals. While the veteran did all he could, his efforts weren't enough to lead Milwaukee to a win, eliminating the team from the playoffs. Middleton finished the regular season by averaging 15.1 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.7 rebounds. However, as usual, the 32-year-old was limited to 55 games due to injury. Middleton's play is never a concern. But his inability to stay healthy will negatively impact his fantasy stock heading into the 2024-25 campaign, no matter where he's playing.
