Memphis Grizzlies guard Vince Williams Jr. came close to his first triple-double in the NBA after leading the team to a surprising win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Williams finished the victory with 18 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two turnovers while shooting 7-for-11 overall. Williams has provided a surprising boost to the team's offense since he's joined the starting lineup and has vaulted himself into fantasy basketball consideration. According to Basketball Monster, he has provided enough fantasy value over the last week to be a top 50 player in nine-category leagues and top 85 over the last two months. He's a must-roster and must-start player at this point until the Grizzlies get healthier.
Memphis Grizzlies forward/center Jaren Jackson Jr. (quadriceps) won't play on Thursday evening against Milwaukee. The 24-year-old was on the floor on Wednesday night versus the Houston Rockets. He finished with 18 points. However, Jackson got into foul trouble, limiting him to just 28 minutes of work. Nonetheless, Memphis is looking to get players healthy. The team also needs players to remain on the floor, so it's likely Jackson is just getting an extra night off to rest entering the All-Star break. As a result, GG Jackson II and Santi Aldama should get extra chances on the scoring end, especially with the Grizzlies' lengthy injury report.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Luke Kennard (illness) is a late addition to the injury report. Head coach Taylor Jenkins said that Kennard is trending towards being out. The Grizzlies would have a big hole to fill considering Kennard played 24 minutes last game. John Konchar could be worth a look as a streaming option if Kennard is unable to play. He could play close to 30 minutes with the Grizzlies shorthanded.
Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. (hip) will go through his pregame routine with the intent of suiting up for Thursday's game against the Chicago Bulls. Jackson should make his return to the court after sitting out Tuesday's contest. His return should push Trey Jemison back to the bench. However, Jemison still has decent streaming value with the Grizzlies extremely shorthanded. Fantasy managers should double-check before tip-off to see if Jackson has been cleared to play.
Memphis Grizzlies guard Vince Williams Jr. (wrist) has been cleared to play ahead of Tuesday's game against the New York Knicks. This is good news for the Grizzlies who are already extremely banged up. Williams and Santi Aldama figure to play big roles in the rotation. The return of these two players should mean that Luke Kennard and GG Jackson head back to the bench. Despite that, both players should still have value in deep leagues even with a move to the second unit.
