Trae Young May Not Play On Sunday

Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (finger) is questionable for Sunday's game against Orlando. He scored only 11 points on Friday night and suffered a thigh injury during the contest. However, a finger issue that might keep him off the floor on Sunday night. Young has missed only five games this season. But if he can't suit up, Dejounte Murray would be a lock for all fantasy lineups. At the same time, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Saddiq Bey, and Jalen Johnson would also benefit.

Onyeka Okongwu Now In A Walking Boot

Atlanta Hawks forward/center Onyeka Okongwu (toe) is now in a walking boot. The 2020 No. 6 overall pick has missed the last two games because of a sprained left toe. He'll be re-evaluated in the next two weeks to see where he's at in the recovery process. However, fantasy managers shouldn't expect to see him on the floor anytime in the near future. It's a tough blow for Okongwu, who has averaged a career-high 10.2 points with 7.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks this season. But until he returns to the lineup, Clint Capela should continue to hold things down underneath the basket. Additionally, De'Andre Hunter, amassing 21.5 points per game without Okongwu active during the 2023-24 campaign, may continue to see an uptick in fantasy production.

Onyeka Okongwu Out Indefinitely With Sprained Toe

Atlanta Hawks head coach Quin Snyder said on Thursday that center Onyeka Okongwu (toe) will be sidelined for the foreseeable future, ruling him out for Friday's game versus the Toronto Raptors. A sprained left big toe will keep Okongwu on the shelf on Friday, and the 23-year-old rim protector should be deemed out indefinitely. Reinforcements down low are on the way for the Hawks, however, as Clint Capela (adductor) will be active against the Raptors.

Clint Capela Back From Groin Strain

Atlanta Hawks head coach Quin Snyder says center Clint Capela (groin) will be back for Friday's game versus the Toronto Raptors, but the veteran big man will likely be on a minutes restriction. The Hawks have been without Capela since Feb. 3 due to his strained left groin, but he'll rejoin the lineup Friday. The 2020-21 rebounding champion is posting 11.5 points on 57.5% field-goal shooting, 10.6 rebounds, and 1.5 swats per game this season.

Trae Young Remains Committed To Hawks

Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young has steered himself clear of trade rumors and wants to remain on the team. "It's this type of league where things change and happen, but obviously, my mindset is staying in Atlanta right now. I don't get caught up in the rumors and all that stuff, my contract is locked in for a couple of years, and I don't have very much to say about it right now," Young told Jameelah Johnson of atlhawksfans.com. From a personal perspective, Young is having another fantastic season, but Atlanta is on track to a losing record and missing the playoffs, which definitely isn't a pleasant situation for the star point guard or the team. This is the second season of a five-year, $215 million extension Young signed with the Hawks in 2021.
