Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Tobias Myers will start Game 3 of the wild-card series at American Family Field on Thursday against the New York Mets if the Brewers are able to win in Game 2 on Wednesday to force a deciding third game. Myers would only be available to start on Thursday if he's not used in relief in Wednesday's game. The 26-year-old stepped up big time for Milwaukee's banged-up rotation in his first big-league season in 2024, going 9-6 with a sharp 3.00 ERA (3.91 FIP), a 1.17 WHIP, 127 strikeouts and 36 walks in 138 innings over 27 appearances (25 starts). He was strong in the final month of September outside of a four-run outing on Sept. 14 against the Arizona Diamondbacks. In Myers' final start of the regular season last weekend, he held the Mets scoreless through four frames to picking up the win while walking none and striking out five.
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Tobias Myers tossed seven 1/3 shutout innings on Saturday evening. Myers allowed just three hits and no walks while striking out a season-high nine batters. Entering Saturday, Myers posted an excellent 1.61 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP in his past four starts. After posting a 3.26 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP through the first three months of the campaign, Myers has continued to develop even further and has begun to flash elite upside. The 26-year-old is slated to face the Dodgers in his next start on Thursday, August 15, and could be worth a look in DFS, given his recent stretch.
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Tobias Myers continued his emergence on Wednesday, tossing eight shutout innings with six strikeouts during his appearance against the division-rival Pittsburgh Pirates. Myers notched his sixth win of 2024 on Wednesday, quieting the Pirates on four hits and a lone walk. The 25-year-old right-hander has been a revelation as a rookie for the Brewers, most recently posting a 1.79 ERA and 0.93 WHIP with 35 K's and 10 walks over his last seven starts (45 1/3 innings). Although Myers is not a must-roster fantasy player in all leagues, he should garner plenty of attention when faced with an advantageous situation.
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Tobias Myers (4-2) turned in a quality start in a 6-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday. Myers tossed 6 1/3 innings of scoreless ball while allowing four hits, walking two, and picking up six strikeouts. The rookie picked up his fourth win of the season. He owns a 3.26 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 42 strikeouts over 47 innings of work across 10 appearances (nine starts). Myers has emerged as a critical piece of the Milwaukee pitching rotation and should be in starting lineups for fantasy managers moving forward. His next outing is scheduled for Sunday against the San Diego Padres.
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Tobias Myers was dominant in his start in a 10-0 win over the Detroit Tigers on Friday. Myers tossed eight innings of shutout ball while striking out five, walking three, and allowing just one hit to earn the win for his team. That easily goes down as the best appearance of Myers' young career. Myers has now made eight appearances (seven starts) for the Brewers this season, posting a 2-2 record, 4.15 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 32 strikeouts over 34 2/3 innings of work. Fantasy gamers will want to consider adding Myers where available in case he's able to continue to build upon Friday's success.
