Free-agent outfielder Teoscar Hernandez is reportedly drawing interest from the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles on the open market, according to sources. Other teams are involved, but the Red Sox and Orioles have similar needs for a right-handed power bat. There's mutual interest between Hernandez and the Los Angeles Dodgers, too, which is probably stronger after they won the World Series over the Yankees in October. The 32-year-old Dominican outfielder thrived hitting in the middle of LA's stacked lineup in his first year with the team in 2024, slashing .272/.339/.501 with an .840 OPS, a career-high 33 home runs, 99 RBI, 12 steals and 84 runs scored in 154 games during the regular season. It will certainly be tough to live up to those numbers if he leaves the Dodgers in pursuit of the American League East or somewhere else.
The Los Angeles Dodgers extended a $21.05 million qualifying offer to free-agent outfielder Teoscar Hernandez on Monday, according to sources. Even though the Dodgers and Hernandez could reunite in 2025, he's almost certainly going to reject the offer. If Hernandez then signs with another team in free agency, the Dodgers would be receive draft-pick compensation. The 32-year-old right-handed slugger helped LA win another World Series title in his first year with the team and was a consistent offensive force all year on a team stacked with All-Stars. Hernandez hit .272/.339/.501 with an .840 OPS, career-high 33 home runs, 99 RBI, career-high-tying 12 steals and 84 runs scored in 154 regular-season games for the Blue. For fantasy purposes, Hernandez's fantasy value would be at its highest if he stays in LA's stacked lineup.
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez extended his hitting streak to six games by tallying two hits in their series-clinching victory on Wednesday evening. Hernandez tallied two hits including the game-tying two-run double in the fifth inning which capped an impressive five-run inning for the Dodgers. This double scored outfielder Mookie Betts and first baseman Freddie Freeman. After struggling through most of the NLCS, Hernandez safely reached in every game during the World Series and tallied at least two hits in two of the games. Throughout all of the postseason, the 32-year-old posted a solid .250/.352/.417 line with three home runs and 12 RBI.
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Game 2 of the World Series. Hernandez went deep for the third time this postseason off Yankee left-hander Carlos Rodon in the third frame. Since going hitless for five straight games, Hernandez is now carrying a three-game hitting streak. In this span, he has tallied multiple hits in two games. Overall, during October, the 32-year-old and posted a .229/.345/.417 line with 10 RBI, three home runs, and a 9:13 BB:K ratio. Hernandez will continue to be a popular target in DFS given his upside for power and potential for scoring opportunities batting in the top half of the lineup.
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a home run in their series-clinching victory over the San Diego Padres on Friday evening. Hernandez extended the Dodger lead in the seventh frame with solo shot off Yu Darvish. Hernandez tallied at least one hit in every game of the NLDS and boasted a .333/.400/.667 line. He hit two home runs and brough in seven RBI. The 31-year-old hit a career-high 31 long balls this summer and carried his power surge into October. DFS players should always consider adding Hernandez to their lineup as he should be penciled into the top-half of the Dodger lineup every game and have prime scoring opportunities.
