Atlanta Braves closer Raisel Iglesias had a night to forget Sunday, allowing five runs in just two-thirds of an inning in a 9-2 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Iglesias came into the game in the ninth with the score tied but promptly allowed four hits and a walk while recording just two outs before exiting. It's been an excellent season for the veteran closer, but this comes at a very tough time for both the Braves and his fantasy managers. Still, on the whole, he has been one of the best relievers in baseball with his ERA at 1.87 and his WHIP at 0.72, even after this dismal appearance. He should be drafted as one of the first relievers off the board next season.
Atlanta Braves closer Raisel Iglesias threw a perfect ninth inning to preserve a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. Iglesias struck out all three batters he faced in this one, making easy work of one of the best lineups in baseball. The 34-year-old has been almost untouchable this year, going 27-for-29 in save opportunities while pitching to a microscopic 1.45 ERA and 0.62 WHIP. Iglesias hasn't allowed a run since June 16, a span of 23 IP. The veteran righty is one of the best closers in the game.
Atlanta Braves closer Raisel Iglesias continued his strong season by earning his 23rd save of the year in Thursday's victory against the Miami Marlins. The veteran worked a 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout in between to ground outs to secure the Braves their 59th victory. Even at age 34, Iglesias continues to be one of the best closers in the league with a 1.73 ERA and 8.42 K/9. Managers should continue to be satisfied with one the best closers in the league that is on a team that continues to give him plenty of opportunities to help managers.
Atlanta Braves closer Raisel Iglesias nailed down the win in Wednesday's 3-1 victory over the Giants. Iglesias allowed an infield single to Matt Chapman after getting the first out, then recorded the final two outs with the last one coming via strikeout. It was the 34-year-old's 21st save of the season, tying him for fourth-most in all of baseball. The righty is having another fine season for Atlanta, posting a 2.27 ERA, 0.88 WHIP, and a 7:28 BB:K over 31 2/3 IP.
Atlanta Braves closer Raisel Iglesias earned Friday's save in the win over the visiting Tampa Bay Rays, recording the final out of the ballgame in the ninth inning. Iglesias needed just three pitches to put this one away for the Braves on Friday, gaining his 18th save of the campaign. The 34-year-old veteran right-hander remains as reliable as any stopper in the game in 2024, compiling a 2.10 ERA and 0.90 WHIP while fanning 17 batters, walking just five, and converting 18 of his 20 save opportunities over 25 2/3 innings as Atlanta's top ninth-inning arm. Despite a career-low strikeout rate, Iglesias doesn't make a habit of lending free passes, and his microscopic 1.3% barrel rate against means his four-pitch arsenal is still as effective as ever.
