Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris II played his part offensively in Tuesday's 12-0 rout of the Nationals. Harris II went 3-for-6 with a single, a pair of solo home runs, and a strikeout. The 23-year-old lined a fourth-inning MacKenzie Gore slider into the right-field bullpen and crushed a 38-MPH Ildemaro Vargas offering deep into the right-center seats in the ninth inning. Harris II has still not been able to replicate the success he found in his first two seasons, slashing .245/.285/.376 with 11 HR, 42 runs scored, 37 RBI, and eight stolen bases in 390 plate appearances while dealing with a strained left hamstring in the middle of the season.
Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris II homered in Tuesday night's 8-6 win against the Minnesota Twins. Harris went 2-for-5 in the ballgame, with his home run being a two-run shot off of the Twins starter Simeon Woods Richardson in the second inning. The 23-year-old is a former top-100 prospect (MLB Pipeline) and is quietly having a productive season. In 80 games (310 at-bats), he is slashing .248/.295/.371 with eight homers, 30 RBI, 36 runs, and eight stolen bases. Harris is starting to heat up after homering twice over his last six games, and fantasy managers should continue to roll with him in all leagues.
Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris II (hand) has returned to center field and is hitting sixth in the batting order on Tuesday versus the Minnesota Twins and rookie right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson at Target Field. Harris did not start the series opener on Monday after being hit in the hand by a pitch on Sunday against the Washington Nationals, but his injury was never believed to be serious, and he even came off the bench to pinch hit on Monday night. Infielder Whit Merrifield is serving as Atlanta's leadoff hitter on Tuesday after his five-hit performance on Monday, so Harris won't have as much DFS appeal against a right-hander. Since returning from a stint on the injured list on Aug. 14, Harris has just one multi-hit game and has gone 10-for-45 (.222) with two home runs, a double, eight RBI and 14 strikeouts in 12 games.
Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris II (hand) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Minnesota Twins. This isn't too shocking, considering Harris was forced to exit early during Sunday's game after getting hit by a pitch in the hand. Luckily, it appears Harris has avoided any fractures and should be ready to go in a few days. It doesn't sound like Harris will require a trip to the injured list, which is good news for fantasy managers. Jarred Kelenic will cover center field and bat seventh versus right-hander Bailey Ober on Monday. Kelenic is sporting a lowly .236 batting average, but he has 13 home runs and 39 RBI this season. He could be worth a look as a streaming option due to his power numbers while Harris is out.
Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris II (hand) was forced to exit early during Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals. Harris was hit by a pitch in the left hand area during the first inning of Sunday's contest. Harris attempted to play through the issue, but he was subbed out for Jarred Kelenic. The assumption is that Harris will undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury. The 2024 season has been tough for Harris who has only been able to play in a little over 70 games. Hopefully, it's a minor injury and Harris can get back in the lineup within a few days. In the meantime, Kelenic figures to see increased playing time in the outfield. Kelenic is hitting .237 with 13 home runs and 39 RBI in 115 games this season. He could be worth a look in deep formats if Harris is forced to miss time.
