Gausman tweaked his delivery going into his start on Friday against the Seattle Mariners and was happy with the results. He tried to be more "hunched over" on the mound, allowing him to lower his arm angle. One immediate result was better fastball control, and it also clocked at 1.4 mph harder than his 2024 average. Gausman had also been getting too much horizontal movement on his splitter and not enough vertical movement. He allowed two runs over six innings with 10 K's on Friday to lower his season ERA to 4.64, and he should be able to continue lowering his ERA by season's end if he stays on this path.

The 33-year-old is on pace for his worst season since he put up a 5.72 ERA in the 2019 season. Gausman is now rostered in 95% of fantasy leagues which means there are fantasy managers out there who have lost patience with the former all-star ace.
