New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez snapped his power drought by going deep on Wednesday evening. Entering this game, the switch-hitting center field carried an 18-game power outage. Through August, the top prospect in the Bronx has struggled with a disappointing .154/.233/.282 line. Prior to this stretch, Dominguez held a strong .360/.400/.640 line across several levels of the minor leagues with six home runs. Dominguez got a brief taste of the majors last summer and showcased his elite potential by going deep four times across eight games. The 21-year-old has been limited by injuries all summer but still has a very good chance to return to the big leagues down the stretch.
New York Yankees top prospect Jasson Dominguez has slowed down his production in August, hitting just .135/.179/.189 in 37 at-bats this month at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Yankees GM Brian Cashman recently said there was no current path for Dominguez to get a call-up to the big leagues. Meanwhile, the 21-year-old has struggled since returning from a strained oblique in late July. The Martian is hitting .283/.340/.457 across three levels this season with six homers and 21 RBI in 36 games in an injury-interrupted campaign. Dominguez still has a bright future but fantasy managers most likely won't see him in the Bronx until 2025.
New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez doesn't have a clear path to a big-league call-up anytime soon. "There's currently no lane for us to bring him. It's nice to know he's there. He's just knocking rust off and waiting for his opportunity if it comes," general manager Brian Cashman said. "He's healthy. Ultimately, the injuries this year prevented him from getting much of a bulk of performance. He's definitely sitting there waiting in the wings if need be, playing mostly in centerfield. I think we're going to get him over in left. He's done multiple positions in his career. He's just waiting in the wings, hungry and waiting to see if he gets his chance. It's nice to know he's available to us if need be." The 21-year-old got a late start in 2024 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, and then he missed almost six weeks with a strained oblique. Dominguez should be an immediate fantasy contributor across all categories when he's in the Bronx, but that may not come until 2025.
New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez has been cold at the plate since returning from the Triple-A injured list. Dominguez hit the IL in late June with an oblique strain and officially returned to action on July 26. In his first nine games back with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre he has held a disappointing .185/.267/.222 slash line with just one extra-base hit. He has yet to go deep. In his other 23 games across the minor leagues this summer, the top prospect in the Bronx has boasted a .356/.404/.609 line with six round-trippers. While injuries have kept the center fielder out for a majority of the season, he could still make an impact in redraft leagues later this summer. He is a worthy stash candidate, given his potential to contribute to all five standard categories.
New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez (oblique) went 1-for-4 with two RBI and two strikeouts in his first game back with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday night after being activated from the seven-day minor-league injured list. Dominguez opened the 2024 season recovering from Tommy John surgery and then missed extended time with strained oblique, but he's back now. It's been a year of setbacks for the 21-year-old top prospect for the Yankees, and although he's their center fielder of the future, they aren't going to rush him back to the big leagues in the second half this year. Dominguez hit .389/.405/.639 with two homers in nine games for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before his injury. He should make an immediate impact in all fantasy leagues when he's back in the Bronx, making him stash-worthy in all formats.
