The Arizona Diamondbacks are picking up the 2025 club option on third baseman Eugenio Suarez worth $15 million according to Jesse Rogers of ESPN. The veteran infielder had a tale of two seasons. During the first half, the third baseman hit for a mere .216/.302/.366 slash line with just ten home runs and 48 RBI. However, after the mid-summer classic, the 33-year-old posted a much-improved .307/.341/.602 line with 20 home runs and 53 RBI. He boasted an above-average 11.3% barrel rate and 42.4% hard-hit rate which suggests his power numbers should continue to be a factor in 2025. Suarez remains a safe bet for upside power as a corner infielder this upcoming season.
Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez slugged his 25th homer on Saturday in an 11-5 loss to the Houston Astros. The veteran is now hitting .244 with 25 home runs, 88 RBI, two stolen bases and 76 runs scored. Signed as a free agent last winter, Suarez looks to be on track for a 30-home-run season as the Diamondbacks fight for a playoff spot. Over his last 15 games, Suarez has seven home runs, 19 RBI, and is hitting a robust .385.
Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez continued to swing a hot bat on Sunday, going 4-for-4 with his 20th homer in a 7-5 win over the Boston Red Sox. Suarez added three RBIs and two runs to a stellar overall line. The 33-year-old took Tanner Houck deep in the sixth with two men aboard, putting the D-backs on top for good in this one. Suarez has been very good since the calendar flipped to July, launching 14 homers and driving in 47 runs in 47 games since then. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues while he's swinging the stick so well, and his owners should hope that he can carry it through the rest of the season.
Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez picked up three hits in Wednesday's victory over the visiting division-rival Colorado Rockies at Chase Field, blasting a grand slam with five RBI in the victory. Suarez powered a grand slam off Rockies right-hander Riley Pint to left-center field, his 18th home run of the season, to extend the D-backs' lead to 10-3 in the sixth inning on Wednesday against Colorado. In 33 games since July 7, the 33-year-old veteran slugger is batting .309 (38-for-123) with 12 homers, 35 RBI, and 28 runs scored.
Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez went 4-for-6 with three homers and five RBI against the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night. The 33-year-old has had a very productive July, hitting .326 with 10 homers and 27 RBI. He is slashing .326/.394/.744 in the month, which was much-needed for him as he had struggled for much of the season. He was starting to hear footsteps from prospect Deyvison De Los Santos, but De Los Santos was just dealt to Miami at the deadline. The hot month and trade of his competition mean Suarez is locked into his starting role. He is a streaky hitter who might be worth a look on the waiver wire.
