The New York Yankees are one of six teams that have inquired about the availability of San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Blake Snell. The reigning NL Cy Young winner has already hit the IL twice this season, making just 10 starts so far, but is coming off of a start on Saturday in which he went six innings, allowing no runs on just two hits and two walks while striking out a career-high 15 batters. The Giants may not be sellers, however, as they have won four of their last five games and sit just 4.5 games out of a Wild Card spot. The Yankees on the other hand have already made a splash in the trade market, acquiring outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. from the Marlins on Saturday.

The southpaw allowed one hit over seven scoreless innings while striking out eight batters. This is now back-to-back strong outings from Snell after a horrible start to the season. Hopefully that short stint on the injured list got the left hander back on track. Snell has allowed two hits over 12 scoreless innings since returning to the starting rotation.

The strong outing lowered the 31-year-old southpaw's ERA to 7.85 on the year and his WHIP to 1.74. Given that this was his first major-league start in over a month, fantasy managers shouldn't have been surprised that he threw only 73 pitches. Snell will have a more difficult matchup this weekend against the Minnesota Twins before next week's All-Star break, but fantasy managers will be hoping he can build on Tuesday's fine start and gain some momentum heading into the second half.
