San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Blake Snell continued his stellar second half in Tuesday's 10-0 win over the Orioles. Snell pitched six innings, allowing just one hit and two walks with 12 strikeouts. The 31-year-old was barely startable for fantasy managers in the first half of the season but has been outstanding in the second half. He now owns a 4-0 record with a 1.59 ERA, a 0.88 WHIP, and 94 strikeouts in 11 second-half starts and 62 1/3 IP. Snell will face another tough matchup in his next start at the Royals, but fantasy managers should have him in their rotation for his final few starts of the season.
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Blake Snell gave a short outing on the mound during Thursday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Snell struggled heavily as he needed 42 pitches to get out of the first inning. He gave up two hits, allowed one earned run, and walked two batters during his short lived outing. The veteran southpaw didn't have his command, but will certainly get plenty of rest before his next start against the Milwaukee Brewers. Snell has been solid with five quality starts in his last five outings. These kinds of performances will frustrate fantasy managers, but they will need to stick with him.
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Blake Snell continued to pitch like an ace on Sunday, tossing seven innings of one-run ball against the Oakland Athletics. Snell allowed six hits and two walks while striking out 10. The lefty has been on a tear since returning from the IL on July 9, allowing just six runs in 52 IP (0.97 ERA) with 70 strikeouts. Snell has excelled in the second half for the last three seasons, and at this point it appears to be something to pay attention to come draft season. Even if he starts slow, he is more than likely going to have a stretch like the one we are seeing now and possibly win some fantasy leagues.
San Francisco Giants pitcher Blake Snell fanned 11 batters in Monday's 1-0 loss to the Atlanta Braves. Snell finished with a no-decision despite taking a no-hitter into the seventh and allowed just two hits and three walks in 6 1/3 innings. He has struck out at least 11 batters in three of his last four starts and is on a six-start stretch which has seen Snell fan 57 batters in 40 1/3 innings. He is 2-3 with a very deceptive 3.91 ERA and 1.07 WHIP, striking out 91 and walking 28 in 69 innings. Snell gets a solid matchup in his next start when he faces the Oakland Athletics on Sunday.
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Blake Snell tossed the 18th no-hitter in Giants franchise history in Friday's masterful start against the Cincinnati Reds at the Great American Ball Park, striking out 11 batters during nine magnificent innings of no-run ball. The Reds had no answers for Snell on Friday night. He threw a season-high 114 pitches, walking three in the outing. We witnessed Snell go on an absolute tear with the San Diego Padres during the final three quarters of the 2023 season, and he could be embarking on a second-half surge in San Francisco. Over his last five starts since coming off the injured list on July 9, the 31-year-old reigning National League Cy Young Award winner has a microscopic 0.55 ERA to go with 41 punchouts and 10 walks across 33 frames. Snell's next act will come on Wednesday in a good chance to keep the good times rolling against the hosting Washington Nationals at Nationals Park.
