Miami Dolphins fullback Alec Ingold (calf) and left tackle Terron Armstead (knee) are officially active for Week 12 against the New England Patriots. Ingold had been listed as questionable after logging three limited practices in a row. He was healthy for Miami's first eight games before missing each of their last two contests. His return to the lineup gives the Dolphins an extra backfield blocker, as well as a big-bodied playmaker who can run the ball and catch passes. Armstead had also been listed as questionable, but his status was far more iffy given that he didn't practice at all this week. In the end, though, he's going to play against the Patriots, serving as a reliable protector for Tua Tagovailoa and the offensive backfield.

Last Sunday, the Dolphins compensated for the loss of Ingold by deploying tight ends Jonnu Smith and Julian Hill more frequently, and they may do so again if the veteran is forced to miss another game.

The sixth-year back sustained a calf injury ahead of Miami's Week 9 30-27 loss to the Buffalo Bills and has yet to log a full practice, recording eight straight limited sessions since. Ingold would eventually sit out last weekend, but it appears he might give it another go despite the nagging ailment. With no other active fullbacks on the roster, the Dolphins may expand their usage of two-tight end sets to compensate for the 28-year-old's absence. Ingold has totaled 13 yards and a touchdown on his nine carries in 2024, adding 60 yards through the air on 7-of-8 receiving.
