Austin Ekeler Looks To End On A High Note In Week 18

Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler will look to stop his slide and end the season on a high note in a Week 18 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Ekeler has had a very bad season, scoring just one touchdown in his past seven games and "earning" Pro Football Focus' worst grade among all NFL running backs since Week 6. In what is likely Ekeler's last game as a Charger and almost certainly his last game as a three-down back, he's an RB3.

Noah Brown Won't Play Against Colts

Houston Texans wide receiver Noah Brown (back) was unable to practice all week and has been ruled out for Saturday's Week 18 regular season finale against the Indianapolis Colts. Fellow wideout Robert Woods (hip) is questionable, so the Texans receiving corps could be extra thin in a must-win game for rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. Nico Collins should see as many targets as he can handle, especially if Woods is ruled out Saturday evening. Behind Collins, rookie Xavier Hutchinson and John Metchie III will inevitably see more offensive snaps with Brown being ruled out. Brown had several big games with Stroud impressing in his first NFL season, but overall he was largely inconsistent as a flex play in deeper fantasy leagues. He finishes his first regular season in Houston with 33 receptions for a career-high 567 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games played.

Noah Brown Misses Practice Wednesday

Houston Texans wide receiver Noah Brown (back) did not practice on Wednesday, making it two straight DNPs for the veteran. Brown is tending to a back injury that knocked him out of his team's Week 17 win over the Tennessee Titans. His status for Houston's Saturday matchup against the Indianapolis Colts is in jeopardy as he has just one more day to at least get in a limited session. If Brown ultimately isn't able to play it would force more work onto Robert Woods (hip) and perhaps John Metchie III's plates, although Woods is dealing with an injury of his own.

Joe Flacco To Be Rested, Jeff Driskel Starting In Week 18

The Cleveland Browns will rest quarterback Joe Flacco for the Week 18 regular season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday with the team already locked into the No. 5 seed in the AFC for the playoffs. With the Browns resting Flacco, Jeff Driskel will make the start and P.J. Walker will back him up. The 30-year-old Driskel will only be worth looking at for fantasy managers that are in a bind in two-QB superflex leagues this weekend. He'll be playing for the first time this season. Driskel spent the 2022 season with the Houston Texans and played in seven games (two starts), going 14-for-20 for 108 yards passing, one touchdown and no interceptions. It's likely the Browns will rest other key starters on offense like receiver Amari Cooper (heel), too, so make sure to check back for updates this week.

Noah Brown Estimated As Non-Participant Tuesday

The Houston Texans listed wide receiver Noah Brown (back, hip, knee) as a non-participant on Tuesday's practice estimate. Brown continues to manage a knee injury that kept him sidelined in Weeks 11 and 12, but he's been playing ever since. Now that the 27-year-old is dealing with new injuries that he picked up in the Week 17 win over the Tennessee Titans, his status could be in danger for the Week 18 regular season finale against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday evening. Since returning from his knee injury in Week 13, Brown has only really had one notable performance -- in Week 15 against the Titans when he had a season-high eight catches for 82 yards and a touchdown. If Brown is unable to get the green-light to play in a must-win game on Saturday, Robert Woods, John Metchie III and rookie Xavier Hutchinson would be in line for some more targets behind Nico Collins.
