Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has looked better of late but might struggle against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Lawrence has averaged just under 15 fantasy points per game this season, which should be his expected output against Jaire Alexander and the stout Packers secondary. Evan Engram, Brian Thomas Jr., and Christian Kirk have all been serviceable weapons for Lawrence and the Jaguars offense, but that hasn't translated to great fantasy success for the former top pick. While the Packers have been one of the top defenses against quarterbacks in fantasy, one reason fantasy managers can be optimistic is that the Chicago Bears have been even better against quarterbacks, who Lawrence put up a solid 17 fantasy points against in Week 6. In a tough Week 8 matchup, Lawrence should be considered a solid QB2 with limited upside.
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed 15 of 20 passes for 193 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 7 win over the New England Patriots. He also rushed for 13 yards and didn't take a single sack. The former No. 1 pick led the Jaguars to their second win over the last three weeks. As much flak as Jacksonville has taken this year, Lawrence has quietly played good, turnover-free football, completing 62.1 percent of his passes for 1,527 yards, 10 touchdowns, and three interceptions. He'll rank as a mid-to-low QB2 when the Jaguars return stateside to face the Green Bay Packers in Week 8.
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence will look to continue his positive momentum against the New England Patriots in Week 7. The Jaguars will play in London for the second consecutive week and are looking to bounce back from their beatdown from the Chicago Bears in Week 6. The Patriots defense has been much worse than Chicago's this season, meaning Lawrence can easily improve on last week's 234 yards and two touchdowns on 23 completions. The former top pick doesn't have a ton of upside but makes for a decent streaming option this week. He seems like at least a solid QB2 and based on the matchup, a potential low-end QB1. With all his receiving weapons finally healthy, Lawrence has a good chance to continue his solid play from a fantasy perspective in Week 7.
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence registered another QB2-level performance during the 35-16 loss to the Chicago Bears in London. The 25-year-old continues to struggle as the team fell to 1-5 on the year. He ended this game with 234 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception on 23-for-35 throwing. He added four carries for 17 yards and was sacked three times. The silver lining is that he has thrown for at least two touchdowns in each of the last three games, but the offense continues to sputter as they average just 18.8 points per game. He'll try to right the ship against the New England Patriots in another London game in Week 7.
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence faces off with the Chicago Bears in Week 6, who have been one of the best defenses against the pass in the NFL so far. While the Jaguars offense has looked better lately, the Bears are a different animal than the porous Indianapolis Colts defense Lawrence torched for 371 passing yards last week. Lawrence has shown glimpses of potential fantasy-wise, but this week, there is a good chance he struggles. The Jaguars defense has been one of the worst in the league so far, so the former top pick will likely have to throw a lot to keep up. That means lots of opportunities for touchdowns and yardage, but that also means more opportunities for fumbles and interceptions for the turnover-prone quarterback. Evan Engram could be returning from injury, which would help Lawrence a lot, but fantasy managers should be looking elsewhere for a starting quarterback in Week 6 to avoid this mismatch.
