The New Orleans Saints tendered the exclusive rights to wide receiver Rashid Shaheed for a one-year tag worth $985,000. Shaheed caught 46 passes for 719 receiving yards and five touchdowns over five touchdowns in 15 games in 2023. The Saints plan to release Michael Thomas this offseason, and Shaheed could secure New Orleans' No. 2 receiver role behind top wideout Chris Olave. While Thomas was sidelined from Weeks 12 through 18, Shaheed caught 15 passes for 194 yards and two touchdowns over five games. The 25-year-old did miss two weeks due to a thigh injury. Shaheed has always been a boom-or-bust fantasy option and is a better fantasy option in best-ball leagues than standard PPR formats.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed led the team in receiving in Week 18's blowout win over the Atlanta Falcons. Shaheed grabbed three receptions for 65 yards and a score, marking his fifth touchdown of the year. The speedy boom-or-bust phenom gave one final boom for the 2023 season and now eagerly awaits the Saints' playoff status, given that they need both Green Bay and Seattle to lose to extend their season.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed has been consistently inconsistent for fantasy managers in 2023. The second-year receiver has seen varied usage levels throughout a season in which he has grabbed 43 catches for 654 yards and four touchdowns. Shaheed holds his typical boom-or-bust label heading into a Week 18 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons, who surrender the fourth-least fantasy points per game to the receiver position. Due to the inconsistent nature of his usage, Shaheed is best left on benches but always offers intriguing big-play ability.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed saw limited involvement in the Week 17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The speedy receiver caught two of three targets for 14 yards. Shaheed's services were not needed, given that New Orleans held a comfortable lead for the entire game. The second-year receiver will look to bounce back in Week 18 against the Atlanta Falcons, but will continue to grade as a boom-or-bust option.
