Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Logan Woodside had a decent showing in Thursday's preseason loss to the Colts. The signal-caller went 16-for-21 passing for 98 yards. He also fumbled, although he made up for it by connecting with Jermaine Burton late in the contest for a touchdown. Of course, Joe Burrow is the No. 1 option in Cincinnati. However, with Burrow having issues staying healthy over the years, there's a chance Cincinnati may rely on their backups at some point in the season. While Jake Browning will likely keep his spot behind Burrow on the depth chart, Woodside may have done enough to secure a place on the roster entering Week 1. With that said, his value in both redraft and dynasty formats can't get much lower, especially while Burrow and Browning are healthy.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Logan Woodside struggled in Saturday's blowout loss to the Chicago Bears. The signal-caller had a decent start to the preseason, throwing for a touchdown in the team's meeting with the Bucs. However, things were different this time around, with Woodside going 17-for-25 passing for 132 yards and two interceptions. Despite the performance, Woodside should hold on to the No. 3 spot on the depth chart ahead of Rocky Lombardi. Yet, his showing on Saturday didn't improve his chances of surpassing Jake Browning (ribs) on the depth chart. The 29-year-old will look for a strong end to the preseason on Thursday versus the Colts.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Logan Woodside completed eight of 12 passes for 149 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions during Saturday's preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Woodside didn't enter the game until the fourth quarter, which means he's third on the depth chart behind Joe Burrow and Jake Browning. Nevertheless, Woodside might have inched a bit closer to the backup job by limiting incompletions, racking up yards, and leading a scoring drive. He still faces a challenge to surpass Browning on the depth chart, but Saturday's game was a step in the right direction. He'll presumably get two more opportunities to showcase himself as the Bengals move through their preseason schedule this month.
Free-agent quarterback Logan Woodside signed with the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday, the team announced on X. The former Toledo signal-caller was selected by the Bengals in the 2018 NFL Draft, but he was waived before his rookie season began. He then signed with the Tennessee Titans but lasted just a few weeks with the organization before spending time with the San Antonio Commanders of the AAF. He made his way back to the NFL with Tennessee for three and half years before one and a half years with the Atlanta Falcons. The 29-year-old has completed just four passes for 34 yards in his professional career, so it'd be a surprise if he beat out Jake Browning for the QB2 job behind Joe Burrow.
