Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts helped guide his team to a win over the Packers on Friday night. The field conditions in Brazil weren't favorable. Yet, the signal-caller still put together an acceptable showing for fantasy managers, throwing for 278 yards, two touchdowns, and two picks off 20-for-34 passing. He added 13 carries for 33 yards. With Jason Kelce now retired, Hurts had issues getting on the same page as center Cam Jurgens, resulting in some botched snaps. However, things will likely get sorted out ahead of the Eagles Week 2 meeting with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. With that said, Hurts will remain a must-start in all fantasy formats.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will face off against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1 in the first international game of the season, being held in Brazil. The 26-year-old did not see a single snap in the preseason but has plenty of hope surrounding him after last year's late season collapse in Philadelphia. New offensive coordinator Kellen Moore should help solve some of the issues the offense had with being bland and mundane, and the addition of Saquon Barkley at running back makes the offense nearly impossible to gameplan against. The Packers defense ranked top 10 in passing defense by the end of last season but struggled against the run and defending rushing quarterbacks. In what should be a tightly contested game between two playoff hopefuls, Hurts should be considered a top three option during the opening week of the regular season.
The Philadelphia Eagles plan to play quarterback Jalen Hurts and their starters for a series in Friday's preseason opener against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium. It could be more depending upon how the series goes, but the first-team players are at least expected to make an appearance on Friday against the Ravens. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect to see the stars and veterans for more than a handful of snaps, though. With elite rushing upside, Hurts has cemented himself as one of fantasy's weekly matchup-proof QB1 bets entering 2024. Last season, he piled up a ridiculous 44 red-zone carries to go with 15 rushing touchdowns in 17 appearances for the Eagles. The 26-year-old two-time Pro Bowler is now also surrounded by one of the top supporting casts in all of football to bolster his fantasy package.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts said that "95 percent" of the offense being installed for the 2024 season is new under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore after the team's 1-6 finish last year. Head coach Nick Sirianni said Moore had previously described the offense as a hybrid scheme that incorporates concepts from Sirianni's and Moore's previous systems. The players are still adjusting to the new details, as the timing between Hurts and his playmakers has been hit or miss during offseason workouts. One noticeable change is the jump in motion plays after the Eagles were last in pre-snap motion in 2023. It's possible Hurts and the Eagles offense is still adjusting to Moore's play-calling early on in 2024, but it will be interesting to see how much everything changes. Regardless of the new offense, Hurts is a top-flight QB1 in fantasy in a loaded offense.
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 25 of 35 passes for 250 yards and one touchdown, adding one carry for five yards during the team's 9-32 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 25-year-old didn't make many mistakes but was unable to put the team into scoring range consistently without A.J. Brown (knee). Over half of Hurts' passing yards went to DeVonta Smith. The Eagles' offense was in shambles at the end of the year and could not get things turned around by the start of the playoffs. There are bound to be plenty of changes to the coaching staff and roster come September, but Hurts will remain a top-five fantasy quarterback because when he is healthy and has his full complement of weapons, he is as good as any other.
