Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Jake Browning (ribs) is expected to miss time with a rib injury, according to head coach Zac Taylor. Browning filled in admirably for Joe Burrow when the latter missed a large chunk of last season with a wrist injury, prompting the team to re-sign him as their backup quarterback. Veteran Logan Woodside and undrafted free agent Rocky Lombardi will be the quarterbacks under center when the Bengals travel to Chicago for their second preseason game.

The 28-year-old will return to being the primary backup to Burrow in 2024, so he won't have any real fantasy appeal unless Burrow misses time with another injury.

He's fully expected to be Burrow's top backup for the 2024 season, but he won't be on the fantasy radar again unless Burrow misses more time due to injury.

Although Browning's efforts weren't enough to lead the Bengals to the playoffs after taking over for Joe Burrow (wrist) earlier in the year, he likely did enough to solidify his backup job for the 2024-25 campaign. Of course, unless Browning gets put into a similar situation next season, he won't see much interest from fantasy managers in drafts heading into Week 1.
