Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman saw a major uptick in playing time from Week 1 to Week 2. After playing just one snap in Week 1, Foreman led the team with 14 carries in their Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. Foreman could see another hefty workload at home in his team's Week 3 showdown against the New York Giants. The Giants have struggled to slow down opposing running backs in 2024, allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to the position thus far. The Browns are installed as 6.5-point favorites, so Foreman could see plenty of clock-killing carries in the second half if this game goes as expected. Foreman settles in as a decent flex option heading into Week 3.
Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman carried the ball 14 times for 42 yards while adding nine yards on one catch in an 18-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. Foreman led the Browns in carries just one week after playing only one snap in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. Cleveland appears content to split the backfield work between Foreman and Ford until Nick Chubb (knee) is ready to be activated from injured reserve. For now, Foreman is worth a waiver add in deeper leagues ahead of a Week 3 matchup against the New York Giants.
The Cleveland Brown re-signed running back D'Onta Foreman to their 53-man roster on Thursday after releasing former Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley, according to sources. Foreman was initially cut on Tuesday when they trimmed their roster down, but he'll now rejoin the team as RB depth behind Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr. (ribs) to begin the year with both Nick Chubb (knee) and Nyheim Hines (knee) starting the year on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Expect Foreman and Strong work in tandem in a change-of-pace role behind Ford for at least the first four games of the 2024 season. The 28-year-old Foreman isn't going to see enough volume in Cleveland's backfield unless Ford also misses time due to injury early on, so fantasy managers in most leagues can avoid him for now. In his only year with the Chicago Bears in 2023, Foreman had 109 carries for 425 yards (3.9 yards per tote) and four TDs.
The Cleveland Browns announced on Tuesday that they are terminating the contract of running back D'Onta Foreman. The 28-year-old signed with the Browns this past offseason after bouncing around a couple of teams over the past few seasons. In 2023, he played nine games with the Chicago Bears, rushing for 425 yards on 109 attempts and four scores. Foreman did have a career year with the Carolina Panthers, where he rushed for 914 yards and scored five touchdowns in 17 games. Now, the Browns only have two running backs on their official 53-man roster (Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr.), with Nick Chubb (knee) on the PUP list. Foreman will look to latch onto another team. According to Field Yates of ESPN, there is a chance the Browns will re-sign Foreman in a few days without him going to waivers.
Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman turned in a productive game in his team's 27-12 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in preseason action on Saturday. Foreman carried the ball 10 times for 18 yards and a touchdown while catching all five of his targets for 46 yards in the loss. The veteran running back got the Browns on the board in the first quarter, finding the end zone on a one-run rush while also turning in an impressive effort as a receiver. Foreman could hold some early-season fantasy value if Nick Chubb (knee) isn't ready to play when the season opens, although he would still split work with Jerome Ford.
