He also had a significant impact through the air, catching two passes for an additional 34 yards. Achane came on incredibly strong last year, using his receiving skills and elite speed to completely fluster opposing defenses. He proved to be a league-winner in 2023, but he also showed that he and Raheem Mostert can co-exist in Miami's offense, even from a fantasy football perspective. Achane should be treated as a low-end RB1 heading into this year's fantasy drafts.

Achane was the second back behind veteran starter Raheem Mostert and played into the second quarter with Skylar Thompson and the backups. There was little run on the ground for the second-year RB in this one, though he did have some work in the passing game. The Texas A&M alum motioned out of the backfield and lined up outside right early in the second quarter. He went streaking down the sideline, and Thompson hit him up the seam to gain 26 yards. It's encouraging to see Mike McDaniel use him in various ways, as he has yet to dethrone Mostert as the lead back. It may come to fruition this season, but the speedster doesn't need a workhorse role to impact the field and fantasy lineups. We will see if Achane suits up next Friday when the Dolphins take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He's off the board as the RB11 via Yahoo! in fantasy drafts thus far and would offer top-five fantasy upside if the 32-year-old Mostert were to miss any time.

He didn't play a full season and was only 200 yards shy of an 1,000-yard campaign. Recently, head coach Mike McDaniel said he hopes to incorporate Achane more into their scheme going forward. This backfield is a bit crowded with Raheem Mostert and fourth-round rookie Jaylen Wright. The only way for Achane to probably have increased value would be more involvement in the passing game. At the end of the day, the Dolphins will probably end up using some type of committee approach. Regardless of what happens, Achane should still hold solid value in most fantasy formats.

However, he's looking to develop his route-running and overall receiving skill set, according to Dolphins reporter David Furones. "Two specific goals Achane has this offseason:" Furones wrote. "Get stronger to better withstand the hits taken in the NFL and improve on his route-running to get the ball more often in the passing game." Achane led all Miami running backs with 37 targets last season, and he has a clear path to doing it again since Raheem Mostert isn't much of a pass-catcher, and rookie Jaylen Wright didn't show much as a receiver at Tennessee. Any extra receiving work could elevate Achane into the next tier of fantasy running backs, so this is a good sign for his potential upside in Year 2.

Achane stands at only 5-foot-9, 188 pounds, but he packs a punch and is one of the fastest players overall in the NFL already. The only knocks on the 22-year-old are that he missed six games with injury, and that Raheem Mostert, who scored 21 total touchdowns in 2023, is still around. Achane had 103 carries for 800 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 regular-season games (four starts). Even with Mostert around, Achane, when healthy, has some of the most upside of any RB in the league.
