Arizona Cardinals kicker Chad Ryland converted his lone field goal attempt but missed an extra point during Saturday's Week 17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The second-year kicker wasn't able to build on last week's dominant showing against the Carolina Panthers. Ryland's missed kick brought him to 21-for-22 on extra points and 26-for-30 on field goals in 2024. He'll look to bounce back as a decent streamer next week, assuming Matt Prater (knee) doesn't return from injured reserve for the Cardinals' season finale.
For at least another week, Chad Ryland will maintain the starting kicker role with the Arizona Cardinals, but managers should still look for another option with the Cards playing the Los Angeles Rams in Week 17. The second-year kicker has filled in nicely for the injured Matt Prater (knee), connecting on 25 of 29 field-goal attempts and all 21 extra points. Though Ryland's performance hasn't been the issue, Arizona is beaten up at running back with both James Conner (knee) and Trey Benson (ankle), and now that they're officially eliminated from the playoffs, this is a meaningless game for them. For managers still playing, seeking a better kicker situation is the smart move.
Arizona Cardinals kicker Chad Ryland had an excellent game Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, converting all three field goal attempts and all three extra points in the 36-30 overtime defeat. The kicker was one of the few Cardinals who outperformed expectations, nailing field goals of 48, 30, and 58 yards, the last of the which sent the game to an extra period on the last play of regulation. The second-year man has done well with his chance in Arizona and could be a plausible streaming option with a plus matchup in Week 17 against the Los Angeles Rams.
Arizona Cardinals kicker Chad Ryland was quiet during last week's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The 25-year-old made one-of-two field goal attempts and connected on his lone extra point try in the loss. Ryland has been decent this season as he knocked down 19-of-23 field goal attempts heading into the Week 15 matchup against the New England Patriots. It's worth noting that Ryland could lose his kicking job with Matt Prater (knee) nearing a return. Outside of his five field goal game in Week 13, Ryland has been fairly quiet this season. Fantasy managers should be able to find a better streaming option ahead of this game.
Arizona Cardinals kicker Chad Ryland can be left on waivers in most fantasy leagues for Week 13. While Ryland flashed real promise early in his stint with the Cardinals, his productivity has declined recently, and he missed his second field goal of the season last week. The 25-year-old now ranks as the overall K15 in scoring since taking over kicking duties in Arizona ahead of Week 5. To make matters worse, Ryland faces the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday. Minnesota has allowed the absolute fewest fantasy points to kickers in 2024, holding the position to an average of just one field goal and 1.8 extra points per game. Managers should look elsewhere for production at the kicker position.
