Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon (neck, thumb) is missing a second straight day of practice this week on Thursday. A fractured right thumb kept Dillon sidelined in Week 15, and in two games since his return, he's carried the ball only 14 times for just 39 yards and one touchdown. The bruising RB suffered a neck stinger in the Week 17 win over the Minnesota Vikings and is now questionable to play in a must-win Week 18 contest versus the division-rival Chicago Bears. The 25-year-old will need to practice on Friday to have a chance at playing. Even if Dillon does suit up this weekend in a big game, he'll play second fiddle to Aaron Jones and will be a low-upside, unattractive sleeper play in DFS formats in a tough matchup. If Dillon cannot play, Patrick Taylor would serve as Jones' backup.
Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon (neck, thumb) was listed as a non-participant at the team's walkthrough session on Wednesday. Dillon suffered a broken right thumb in Week 14 and sat out in Week 15 before returning in Week 16. He suffered a stinger in the Sunday night win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 17. The Packers are playing in a must-win Week 18 regular season finale against the Chicago Bears this weekend, so if the 25-year-old can return to practice in the next two days, he'll be in the Packers' backfield sharing touches with Aaron Jones. When Jones has been healthy, Dillon has been a lackluster RB3/flex in deep fantasy leagues, which will make him a pretty low-upside DFS play if he's active this Sunday. If he cannot play, Patrick Taylor would serve as Jones' backup.
Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon (shoulder) exited the team's 33-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings in the third quarter with a stinger. The 25-year-old was listed as questionable to return but never came back to the game. Dillon had dealt with a thumb injury over the past few weeks. Since the return of Aaron Jones, the Packers' No. 2 back has done little to nothing for fantasy purposes, and last night was no exception. Before exiting, Dillon took seven carries for just 27 yards and was out-gained by No. 3 back Patrick Taylor. There is a good chance Dillon will sit out next week, meaning those playing their title games next week will be without him. However, he would not have been a recommended option against a stiff Chicago run defense. Keep an eye on this week's practice reports for a better indication of how long Dillon will be out.
