Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell completed 24 of 34 pass attempts for 214 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception during Sunday's Week 18 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. He also rushed four times for an additional 13 yards on the ground. O'Connell has delivered modest production over the last three weeks, tallying four passing touchdowns and one turnover during that span. He has benefitted from the breakout seasons of both Jakobi Meyers and Brock Bowers, but his production might not be enough to deter Vegas from selecting a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Purdue product finished this year with a 63.6 percent completion rate, eight touchdowns, and six turnovers through parts of nine games. Dynasty managers should hold O'Connell on their rosters for now, as he'll be hard to sell but is a little too valuable to drop in leagues with 14 teams or more. From a redraft perspective, he'll trend down as long as the Raiders add a notable quarterback especially if it's a rookie during the upcoming months.
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell won't be a viable fantasy option this Sunday when his team hosts the visiting Los Angeles Chargers. O'Connell has been decent when he's gotten the nod this year -- piecing together a 5:1 TD:INT ratio and 266.5 yards per game on a 64% completion percentage. However, he'll have his work cut out for him in Week 18. The 26-year-old will get his fifth start of the season against a Chargers squad, allowing the fewest points per game in the NFL (17.6). Additionally, LA has been a top-ten unit against fantasy quarterbacks in 2024 (17 PPG). Even on a week when some teams will be benching their starters, fantasy managers can find a better option than the Purdue product to slot into their lineups. O'Connell comes in as RotoBaller's QB22 in this week's rankings.
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell completed 20-of-35 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 25-10 win over the New Orleans Saints. He lost one yard on his three carries. The second-year pro was decent for the second straight week -- avoiding turnovers and eclipsing 240 yards through the air in both contests. O'Connell looked in rhythm this afternoon, frequently working underneath to spectacular rookie tight end Brock Bowers. However, he also made some nice throws downfield on a Saints defense that had been solid against fantasy quarterbacks this year. It was just the second time this season that the 26-year-old threw more than one score (eight appearances). He and Las Vegas will square off with the Los Angeles Chargers next weekend in a game that holds little meaning. Still, it's excellent experience for the former fourth-round pick as he'll look to head into 2025 with something to build off of.
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell completed 20 of his 35 pass attempts for 242 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 17 win over the New Orleans Saints. The 26-year-old has gone two consecutive starts without a turnover, giving Raider fans something to celebrate despite being eliminated from playoff contention. Furthermore, the Purdue product is working to establish himself as a starting-caliber quarterback in the NFL, whether he's auditioning for a 2025 job with the Raiders or another team. O'Connell will get one more chance to make an impact on film and the stat sheet when the Raiders finish off their regular season against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 18.
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell led his team to their third win of the 2024-25 campaign by defeating the Jaguars in Week 16. However, it still wasn't the best fantasy showing, with the 26-year-old throwing for 257 yards while not finding any of his receivers in the end zone. With the Saints on tap for Week 17, O'Connell is hoping for a strong finish to the season in his next two appearances. Unfortunately, with only four touchdowns (and three interceptions) this season, O'Connell shouldn't be anywhere near a fantasy lineup in Week 17. That will remain the same for Week 18 as well.
