Greg Zuerlein Re-Signs With Jets

The New York Jets are re-signing veteran kicker Greg Zuerlein to a two-year, $8.4 million deal. The 36-year-old made 35 of his 38 field-goal attempts and 13 of his 14 extra-point tries in 2023. With quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) out of action, the Jets' offense sputtered, leading to a ton of stalled-out drives and field-goal attempts. If Rodgers is good to go for 2024 and is playing at a high level, more drives could be converted into touchdowns. That said, Zuerlein has a wide range of outcomes in fantasy football next season.

Jordan Travis Expected To Be Cleared By April

Former Florida State quarterback and 2024 NFL Draft prospect Jordan Travis (ankle) is expected to be fully cleared by April, according to his agent Deiric Jackson. The 23-year-old suffered a brutal ankle injury on November 18, effectively ending his season and college career. At the time of his injury, the Seminoles were 10-0 and Travis had compiled 2,756 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns, two interceptions, 176 rushing yards, and seven rushing touchdowns. He finished fifth in the 2023 Heisman Trophy voting. The Florida native played in 49 college games (39 starts), so he'll bring experience to the quarterback room. However, he's likely going to be selected on the final day of the 2024 NFL Draft, meaning there's no guarantee he'll ever see playing time at the next level.

Raiders Say Davante Adams Isn't Going Anywhere

New Las Vegas Raiders general manager Tom Telesco emphasized on Tuesday that wide receiver Davante Adams isn't going anywhere despite trade rumors. "He's a Raider," Telesco said. Adams is guaranteed a full $16.89 million base salary in 2024 and has three years left on his current deal. Adams broke a streak of six straight Pro Bowl appearances in 2023, although he still managed to catch over 100 passes (103) for the fourth straight year while gaining 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns in 17 games. The 31-year-old could become more inconsistent as the Raiders look for an upgrade at quarterback through the draft, but it's hard to debate his WR1 worth in fantasy after posting four straight 1,000-yard seasons while finding the end zone 51 times since 2020.

Davante Adams Won't Be Disciplined For Shoving Photographer

The NFL informed Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams that he won't be disciplined for shoving a photographer after a 2022 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to sources. Prosecutors dismissed a misdemeanor assault charge against Adams last summer, but the league's probe into the matter remained opened until now. Fantasy managers considering taking the 31-year-old All-Pro wideout in drafts this fall will not have to worry about him opening up the 2024 with a suspension. Adams remains one of the best pass-catchers in the game and has four straight 1,000-yard seasons and four straight 100-catch seasons, but 2023 was also the first season without recording double-digit touchdowns since 2019.

Aaron Rodgers Doing Everything But Sprinting

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) said on the Joe Rogan podcast that his rehab from a torn Achilles continues to go well five months removed from surgery. "It feels good. I can do everything except sprint at a top speed," Rodgers said. The Jets designated Rodgers to return from Injured Reserve late in the regular season, but he wasn't able to complete a miraculous return after tearing his Achilles in Week 1 because of the fact that the Jets were eliminated from postseason contention. The 40-year-old future Hall of Famer did return to practices to close out the regular season, though, and provided the team of glimpses of how their season could have turned out in 2023 had he stayed healthy. Barring a setback this offseason, Rodgers should be ready to go for training camp and the start of the 2024 campaign.
