New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson was heavily used in Week 17's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Johnson led the team in receiving on a season-high 12 targets, grabbing eight receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Derek Carr took advantage of Tampa Bay's inability to cover tight ends, picking the defense apart through Johnson. Johnson has now caught a touchdown in three straight games, extending a streak after scoring just once prior to Week 15. He has paid off for fantasy managers who took a gamble on him throughout the fantasy playoffs.
New Orleans Saints running back Jamaal Williams had his most productive day of the 2023 season, filling in for an injured Alvin Kamara (ankle) in the second half of the Week 17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Williams carried the ball 19 times for 58 yards and caught four passes for 13 yards. The veteran has been seldom used while primarily operating behind Kamara this season and only has 280 rushing yards after a breakout 1,066-yard season with Detroit last year. If Kamara can't go in Week 18, Williams should see another heavy-usage day and can be started in lineups against Atlanta.
New Orleans Saints gadget player Taysom Hill carved out a role in the Week 17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, finding the endzone for the sixth time this season. Hill completed 1-of-2 passes for 11 yards, carried the ball twice for one yard, and caught both targets for 30 yards and a touchdown. While it was not his most productive day yardage-wise, Hill salvaged his fantasy day with a touchdown. He will be a low-floor, high-ceiling play in Week 18 against the Atlanta Falcons.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr kept the season alive in a big 23-13 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 17. Carr completed 24-of-32 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns in the road win, paying off for fantasy managers who started him in superflex leagues. New Orleans' playoff hopes are still alive, but they need more than just a win over Atlanta next week as Tampa Bay still owns the tiebreaker for the NFC South. Carr will look to continue his hot streak in Week 18 against the Falcons.
