Daniel Jones Will Remain The Starter Heading Into Week 2

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that quarterback Daniel Jones will remain the team's starting QB heading into a Week 2 matchup on the road against the division-rival Washington Commanders. It's usually never a good sign when the head coach has to confirm the team's starting QB in just Week 2 of the season, but that's where we are with the G-Men after an embarrassing 28-6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in the season opener on Sunday. Jones went 22-for-42 for 186 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions while adding six carries for 15 yards. One of the 27-year-old's interceptions was a pick-six, and the Giants offense didn't enter the red zone all day. Jones looked terrible last year, too, before suffering a season-ending torn ACL, and if things don't get better in a hurry, New York may be forced to go to backup Drew Lock. At best, Jones is a low-end QB2 for Week 2.

Daniel Jones Throws Two Interceptions In Season Opener

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones had a tough outing in Sunday's 28-6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, throwing for just 186 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Despite his usual rushing ability (including a QB-designed run in the first quarter), he only managed 15 yards on the ground, which did little to offset his lackluster performance. Jones struggled to move the offense consistently, and his two picks were costly (one being a pick-six), consistently putting the Giants in difficult field position. Fantasy managers banking on his dual-threat ability were left disappointed, and watch out for the Drew Lock chants from the fans.

Jordan Addison's Ankle Injury "Not Believed" To Be Serious

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) isn't believed to have suffered a significant injury, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. The wideout injured his left ankle during training camp. However, he tweaked his right ankle in the Week 1 win over the New York Giants. Of course, fantasy managers will know more when the team gets back to Minnesota, where Addison is anticipated to get another evaluation. If he can't go for the Week 2 matchup with the 49ers, Josh Oliver would likely slide into the No. 2 spot behind Justin Jefferson, giving him a small upside for fantasy managers in deeper formats.

Jordan Addison's Ankle Will Be Re-Evaluated In Minnesota

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (right ankle) will be re-evaluated when the team returns home, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert. Head coach Kevin O'Connell noted that Addison injured his left ankle in training camp, but this new injury is to his right ankle. Addison departed Week 1 after catching three passes for 35 yards. Jalen Nailor will likely operate as the Vikings' No. 2 receiver if Addison misses time, but the bulk of his targets might instead get dispersed to Justin Jefferson, Johnny Mundt, and Josh Oliver.

Jordan Addison Will Not Return Sunday

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) left the game against the New York Giants with an ankle injury and the team has announced that he won't return. At this time, it's unclear how severe of an injury that it is. Addison left in the third quarter though while the team was up 21-6. In that time, he gathered four targets, three receptions, and 35 yards with his longest play going for 16 yards. He was tied with Justin Jefferson for the most targets on the team. Fantasy managers will want to stay tuned for more updates after the team runs some more tests on his ankle after the game. In the meantime, Jalen Nailor will likely see some more opportunities.
