Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson impressed in Week 1, totaling three touchdowns with just nine total completions. Despite his low passing volume, Richardson remains a strong fantasy quarterback with his rushing upside, shown last week with his six attempts for 56 yards and accounting for one of his touchdowns. He now gears up for a Week 2 clash with the Green Bay Packers, a team that allowed 34 points last week to the Eagles as well as 270+ passing yards and two touchdowns to QB Jalen Hurts. As will be the case for most of this season, Richardson makes for a strong start and should be prioritized in almost all/leagues and formats.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said on Friday that kicker Matt Gay (hernia) will kick in the team's Week 2 contest on the road against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday. Gay underwent surgery for a sports hernia recently and was forced to sit out the Week 1 loss to the division-rival Houston Texans. Rookie Spencer Shrader made his NFL debut in that one and made all three of his extra-point attempts. The 30-year-old Gay has recovered quickly, though, practicing in full all week, and he will end up missing just one game to start the 2024 season. He made 80.5% of his 41 field-goal attempts in 2023 with the Colts and went 35-for-36 on extra points in 17 games. Gay isn't a terrible streaming option for fantasy managers, but it makes some sense to look for better options than relying on a kicker coming off a recent surgery.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that wide receiver Josh Downs (ankle) will be a game-time decision for the team's Week 2 contest at Lambeau Field on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. Downs suffered a left high-ankle sprain back in training camp in August and wasn't given the green light to suit up for the Week 1 loss to the division-rival Houston Texans. The 23-year-old was limited in practices this week, though, and has a shot to make his season debut in Green Bay this weekend. Downs is certainly worth a stash in 12-team fantasy leagues for wideout depth, but he's probably not a smart play in starting lineups if he's active on Sunday. However, it's worth noting that he was trending as the team's WR2 in camp behind Michael Pittman Jr. before injuring his ankle. The former third-rounder last year had a 68-771-2 line in 17 games in his rookie campaign in 2023.

Indianapolis Colts kicker Matt Gay (hernia) was a full participant in practice on Thursday. He has now been listed as "full" for two consecutive days, suggesting he's back to 100 percent following a Week 1 absence. Barring any sort of setback, Gay should be able to operate as the Colts' primary kicker on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. With Indianapolis currently favored to win, there should be plenty of scoring opportunities for Gay. He's a low-end starter in most fantasy leagues this week.

Downs suffered a left high-ankle sprain during training camp and did not recover enough to play in the Week 1 loss to the division-rival Houston Texans. The 23-year-old appears to be getting closer to making his 2024 debut, though, although it remains to be seen if he'll get the green light to play this Sunday at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers. Before injuring his ankle, Downs was lined up to be Indy's WR2 behind Michael Pittman Jr. Alec Pierce played 84% of the offensive snaps last week and caught three passes for 125 yards and a score, but Downs should work his way back into being one of quarterback Anthony Richardson's top targets when he returns. Downs is rostered in 22% of Yahoo leagues at the moment and is worth a pickup for WR depth.
