Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton reeled in 8-of-11 targets for 100 yards in Week 8's 28-14 domination of the Carolina Panthers. He added 28 passing yards on his only attempt and lost a fumble in the outing. It was an excellent bounce-back effort for the 29-year-old after posting a goose egg in last week's win over the New Orleans Saints. It's the first time this season that the seventh-year veteran posted a 100-yard performance and the third time he's garnered double-digit targets. His eight receptions were a new season high. Sutton's production has greatly varied through eight games, putting up useful fantasy totals half the time while the other half not so much. Still, he's the clear No. 1 option in Denver's passing attack. He and the Broncos will square off against the Baltimore Ravens next Sunday in a much tougher matchup.
Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams rushed 17 times for 44 yards in the team's 28-14 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The fourth-year back added eight yards through the air on 4-of-4 receiving. It's a massive letdown for fantasy managers, as Denver controlled most of this game. However, rookie quarterback Bo Nix stole the show -- totaling four TDs (three passing, one rushing) in the lopsided affair. Still, it's a disappointing outing, as Carolina was one of the worst rush defenses in the league heading into the contest. More so, considering teammate Jaleel McLaughlin totaled three more yards on nine fewer carries. Better days are ahead for the former North Carolina Tarheel, though next week may not be one of them. Williams and the Broncos will square off against a stout Ravens defense in Week 9 that allowed the fewest rushing yards per attempt (3.3) to opposing offenses heading into Week 8.
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix completed 28-of-37 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 28-14 win over the Carolina Panthers. He added four yards and an additional touchdown on five carries. It was another clean game from the first-round rookie, throwing just one interception in his last six outings after four through the first two weeks. His completions, passing yardage, and touchdown total are all career-highs. It's another impressive outing for the 24-year-old, who is quietly putting together a strong debut campaign. Nix will get a much more challenging task in Week 9 when he and Denver hit the road to line up against a tough Baltimore Ravens squad. However, Browns quarterback Jameis Winston did just torch Baltimore's D for 334 yards and three touchdowns in Week 8.
Denver Broncos running back Audric Estime made his return to the field two weeks ago, but has struggled to make an impact on the field. Last week, Estime rushed five times for 29 yards and also lost a fumble in the loss to the New Orleans Saints. The rookie back is currently the third string behind Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin in the backfield. His role figures to grow as the season goes on, but Estime is unlikely to see a significant workload with the other two backs healthy. Fantasy managers in dynasty leagues should hold Estime, but he's unlikely to have weekly value right now.
Denver Broncos running back Jaleel McLaughlin hasn't made much of an impact on the ground this season. McLaughlin has seen four or less carries in each of the last two games. Last week, McLaughlin only played a little over 20 percent of the snaps while Javonte Williams saw over 60 percent of the playing time. At this point, McLaughlin has become the clear backup to Williams in the backfield. It's also worth noting that rookie Audric Estime is expected to be involved as well. McLaughlin is worth stashing and holding in dynasty leagues, but doesn't offer much weekly value with Williams healthy right now. He isn't a recommended option against the Carolina Panthers in Week 8.
