Bills Release Deonte Harty

The Buffalo Bills released wide receiver and return specialist Deonte Harty on Wednesday, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. Harty signed a two-year, $9.5 million deal with the team last offseason after spending four seasons with the New Orleans Saints. The release of Harty saves the organization $4.2 million on the cap. A product of Assumption University of Division II, Harty has hauled in 79 of his 113 targets for 943 yards and five touchdowns through the first 56 games of his career. In 2023, he caught just 15 passes for 150 yards and one score. However, he finished fifth among all players in average yards per punt return (12.42) and returned one for a touchdown. He will likely have a decent free-agent market as a return specialist.

Derrick Henry Unlikely To Return To Titans

While it's unlikely that the Tennessee Titans re-sign impending free-agent running back Derrick Henry this offseason, they aren't completely closing the door on his return yet. A four-year, $50 million deal Henry signed with the Titans in 2020 is set to expire when the new league year opens on March 13. The 30-year-old isn't getting any younger, but he still managed 1,167 rushing yards (second in the NFL) in 2023 behind a subpar offensive line. Henry is chasing a Super Bowl ring at this point in his career, and he'll have a better chance at that somewhere besides Tennessee. In addition, under new head coach Brian Callahan, the Titans figure to be more of a passing offense. The four-time Pro Bowler and former Offensive Player of the Year in 2020 has lots of miles on his body and could begin to start breaking down as he enters his 30s. But in the right situation in 2024, he could still find RB1 appeal in fantasy.

Rashod Bateman To Get The Ball "A Lot More"

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that wide receiver Rashod Bateman is going to get the ball "a lot more" next season and said that he expects the wideout to take a big step forward in 2024. Odell Beckham Jr. may not return in free agency, which would help, but most fantasy managers will likely want to see it before believing Harbaugh's words. The 24-year-old disappeared more often than not in his third NFL season in 2023, finishing with just 32 receptions for 367 yards and one touchdown on 56 targets in 16 regular-season games. A lot more would have been expected of the former first-rounder had we known he was going to stay healthy all year. Unless Zay Flowers or tight end Mark Andrews miss time with injury in 2024, Bateman will have an uphill battle to climb again for consistent fantasy value.

Titans Won't Use Franchise Tag On Derrick Henry

The Tennessee Titans won't use their franchise tag on impending free-agent running back Derrick Henry this year, according to league sources. With a new coaching staff coming in this offseason, it wasn't expected that the Titans would make much of an effort to retain King Henry as he heads into his age-30 season. The former second-rounder in 2016 out of Alabama has been a Pro Bowler in four of the last five seasons, although he showed some signs of decline in 2023. He had a league-high 280 carries for 1,167 yards (career-low-tying 4.2 yards per carry) and 12 touchdowns, adding 28 catches for 214 yards and no touchdowns as a pass-catcher. Henry may not age gracefully, but he should still have plenty of fantasy appeal in 2024 with a contending team.

Baltimore County Police Suspends Investigation Of Zay Flowers

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers was reportedly being investigated by Baltimore County Police for his alleged involvement in a domestic violence incident. However, the investigation has been suspended, and he will not face charges. It's unclear what the alleged incident was, but his availability for the organization is now unlikely to be affected. The 2023 first-round pick posted 77 catches on 108 targets for 858 yards and five touchdowns in his first season out of Boston College. He should remain a top-two target in Lamar Jackson's passing offense along with tight end Mark Andrews in 2024.
