Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray (hip) was forced to leave the team's Sunday night contest against the Milwaukee Bucks after playing just 19 minutes. He left the game with four points, one rebound, and one block while shooting 2-for-9 from the floor. The good news is this wasn't the same back issue he experienced earlier in the season. He was listed out with right hip irritation which seems like something that will need to be monitored to understand how much time he may miss. Trey Lyles saw the extra minutes in this game once Murray left and if he needs to miss any more time, he would be the first person to see added opportunities.
San Antonio Spurs forward Doug McDermott (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Saturday's game against the Chicago Bulls. The veteran forward will sit this game out due to a right ankle sprain. It's the second game of a back-to-back set, so possibly the Spurs are just being cautious and the ankle issue isn't that serious. The expectation is that Cedi Osman and Keldon Johnson will see more playing time with McDermott ruled out. Both players could be possible low-end streaming options for Saturday's slate.
Sacramento Kings guard Kevin Huerter (ankle) won't return to Wednesday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. His night ended extremely early after Huerter suffered an ankle injury during the first minute of the first quarter. Chris Duarte took over for him and figures to see a bigger role through the rest of this game. The expectation is that Duarte and Malik Monk will split up the playing time, assuming Huerter misses additional time.
Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown says guard/forward Kevin Huerter is back in the team's starting lineup in place of Chris Duarte for Tuesday's meeting with the Detroit Pistons. Huerter reportedly practiced with the starters on Monday, signaling his 17-point effort on Saturday earned him a spot back with the first unit. 2023-24 has been a real struggle for Huerter, who was a key cog in helping end a 16-year Kings playoff drought last season. The 25-year-old marksman is draining a career-low 34.1% of his three-point attempts this year, bottoming out with seven straight single-digit showings before Saturday's performance. Huerter's two-way skills and ability to contribute in multiple areas, however, means he should remain high on fantasy watchlists, and he'll try to establish a rhythm during Sacramento's current five-game road trip.
Sacramento Kings forward Trey Lyles (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Detroit Pistons. The 28-year-old is battling a sprained right ankle, keeping him out of the lineup for Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Lyles hasn't been a consistent fantasy producer this season. However, he's a critical component of the Kings' rotation. But if Lyles misses another contest, it will at least open up more minutes for Sasha Vezenkov, who had 11 points on Sunday against the Pelicans.
