DeMar DeRozan Exits Win With Back Problem

Sacramento Kings forward DeMar DeRozan (back) was limited to 17 minutes in Wednesday's 127-104 win over Phoenix. The veteran star didn't come out for the second half due to back tightness, finishing with two points, five rebounds, three assists, one steal, and two blocks. DeRozan has been in fine form for his new club to start the year, even surpassing the 30-point plateau a couple of times this month. Keon Ellis was promoted to the starting unit for the second half Wednesday and will likely get the nod again if DeRozan can't play on Friday versus Minnesota. Ellis is a defensive specialist and not a very reliable source for fantasy value.

Malik Monk Out At Least Two Weeks

Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk (ankle) will be re-evaluated in two weeks after suffering a "moderate" right ankle sprain in Sunday's win over the Phoenix Suns. The 2017 No. 11 overall pick has provided valuable minutes off the bench for the Kings, averaging 12.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists. But now that he'll be sidelined for at least a few weeks, Keon Ellis and Doug McDermott could see more action moving ahead. However, Ellis and McDermott have a long way to go before earning a consistent place in fantasy lineups.

Malik Monk Ruled Out On Monday

Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday night's contest against the San Antonio Spurs. The sixth man is dealing with a sprained ankle and won't be suiting up for the first time this season. Keon Ellis should see some more minutes off of the bench while Doug McDermott could see some more opportunities for the offensive side of the ball. Ellis would be the better streaming option if defensive stats are needed.

Kevin Huerter Still Out On Monday Night

Sacramento Kings guard Kevin Huerter (illness) won't play on Monday night in Miami. He hasn't felt well, keeping him off the court for Saturday's overtime loss to the Raptors. Doug McDermott got the start in that one. However, he finished with only four points in 15 minutes. With that in mind, McDermott should be left out of fantasy lineups. Instead, Keon Ellis, who had eight points, two steals, and two blocks versus Toronto, is worth streaming. Ellis will also be an enticing DFS value option.

Kevin Huerter Considered Questionable For Monday

Sacramento Kings guard Kevin Huerter (illness) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Miami Heat. After missing Saturday's contest against the Toronto Raptors, the 26-year-old has a chance to return. He has been productive this season, averaging 11.6 points and 2.8 rebounds across 26.0 minutes over five games. If Huerter is unable to play, expect Keon Ellis and Malik Monk to potentially step into larger roles. Fantasy managers should monitor his status leading up to tip-off for any updates.
