Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall (illness) will miss his first game of the season on Sunday versus Portland. He continues to battle an illness, which limited Marshall to 13 minutes against Utah on Saturday. Marshall had scored 20-plus points in four consecutive games before settling for only three points in Saturday's game. He's put in impressive work as Dallas has maneuvered through the absences of Luka Doncic (wrist) and Klay Thompson (foot). Doncic's return to the lineup on Sunday will negatively impact many of the Mavericks players. But Kyrie Irving (shoulder) won't feature against the Trail Blazers, meaning Quentin Grimes, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Jaden Hardy should still play significant roles in the rotation.
Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall (illness) is listed as active and will play on Saturday in the Mavericks' matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. Marshall was originally listed as questionable with an illness but he is feeling good enough to play through it. Marshall has been able to play in every game this season, averaging 8.5 PPG for the Mavericks, mostly off the bench. Fantasy managers with the 26-year-old should get him in their starting lineups. DFS managers may want to be a little more weary about getting Marshall into their lineups as there are likely better options available with more potential for a big game.
Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall (illness) is questionable heading into Saturday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. With P.J. Washington (knee) sidelined recently, Marshall has been rolling with the first-five. He's played well enough, averaging 10.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in four starts during the 2024-25 campaign. But with Marshall and Washington uncertain for Saturday's contest, head coach Jason Kidd may need to shuffle things around, resulting in more work for Maxi Kleber and Olivier-Maxence Prosper. However, neither of those guys are reliable fantasy options, even with the potential for an uptick in production.
New Orleans Pelicans guard/forward Naji Marshall (shoulder) will be welcomed back into the lineup on Thursday versus Sacramento. He's recovered from a shoulder problem that kept him sidelined for a couple of games. Marshall is typically one of the first guys off the bench, and New Orleans is going to need his presence in a situation where Brandon Ingram (knee) remains absent and Larry Nance Jr. (personal) can't play. However, Marshall isn't a very attractive piece fantasy-wise. He's averaging 7.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 19.3 minutes for the season.
New Orleans Pelicans forward/guard Naji Marshall (shoulder) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Sacramento Kings. Marshall has missed the last two games with his shoulder limiting him on the court and further weakening New Orleans' depth. Brandon Ingram missing 11 straight games allowed Marshall to get extra minutes to contribute more before being forced out with shoulder issues. The Pelicans have incentive to keep Marshall out on Thursday in the first half of a back-to-back. Dyson Daniels and Larry Nance Jr. will benefit from more playing time if Marshall misses another game.
