New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson (quad) will only need to miss one game for a quad contusion after he was listed as probable for the team's game on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks. He missed their last game against the Mavericks on Saturday and the Pelicans still put up a 10-point win. Now, Williamson returns along with Trey Murphy III (knee), CJ McCollum (ankle), and Brandon Ingram (Achilles). Williamson's averages are down across the board so far this season, but he's been showing flashes of returning to the level that everyone once expected. The biggest plus for him this year is that he's been healthier than in recent seasons.
New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum (ankle) and Trey Murphy III (knee) have both been tagged as probable to play against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. Both play big roles in the team's offensive success on both the starting and reserve units. McCollum and Murphy were forced to miss their last game against the Mavericks on Saturday and the team still managed to pull out a 10-point win. Now, the entire starting five is expected to play with Murphy leading the bench squad against a depleted Mavericks team that will likely be without Luka Doncic (ankle). Both McCollum and Murphy are startable players in all fantasy formats and league sizes right now.
New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram (Achilles) is expected to play on Monday after he was listed as probable. The veteran wing missed the team's last matchup with the Dallas Mavericks, but he'll at least play them this time around. Ingram, who has dealt with several injury issues in the past, has only missed three games so far this year. He's seen a slight decrease in stats and usage this season which is in large part due to Zion Williamson being healthier. While they've contributed to more team success, it hasn't equated to more fantasy success at the moment. Either way, he's still a must-start player as he sits inside the top 80 in nine-category leagues.
New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram (Achilles) has been ruled out ahead of Saturday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. The Pelicans are going to be extremely shorthanded for this game. It's the second game of a back-to-back set, so hopefully these players will return after the day off. In the meantime, Herbert Jones should see a spike in usage with the Pelicans shorthanded on players. Also, Jose Alvarado, Dyson Daniels, and Naji Marshall should see more action on Saturday.
New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson won't play on Saturday against the Dallas Mavericks. Williamson entered Friday's loss to the Denver Nuggets with a right quad contusion, so he wasn't a lock to play. However, he was in the lineup and finished a game-high 30 points. But with the Pelicans playing the second of a back-to-back, the 23-year-old will get a night off to rest. That said, Brandon Ingram (Achilles), CJ McCollum (ankle), and Trey Murphy III (knee) are questionable, so others could be forced to step up on Saturday night, meaning guys like Herbert Jones, Larry Nance Jr., Dyson Daniels, and Jose Alvarado could see plenty of interest from fantasy managers for their streaming potential.
