New York Mets starting pitcher Sean Manaea was excellent again on Sunday, tossing seven scoreless frames and earning the win in a 2-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox. Manaea allowed just two hits and two walks while striking out five in this one. The lefty has now rolled together four consecutive quality starts and hasn't allowed more than three runs in eight starts. His overall numbers also look very good, with 11 wins, a 3.35 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP, and 154 strikeouts over 150 IP. It's been a great year for the 32-year-old, and he will be tough to bench for fantasy owners as the playoffs arrive.
New York Mets starting pitcher Sean Manaea turned in his second straight excellent start in Monday's 6-0 win over the Cardinals. Manaea pitched seven innings, allowing six hits and no walks with 10 strikeouts. It was the third time all season that Manaea has fanned at least 10 hitters and two of those outings were his most recent. The 32-year-old is having a surprisingly effective season, going 8-4 with a 3.30 ERA, a 9.15 K/9 rate, and a 3.45 BB/9 rate in 22 starts and 120 IP. He will have a decent chance to extend his strikeout streak in his next start at the Mariners, who have struck out the most of any team in baseball.
New York Mets starting pitcher Sean Manaea hit his highest strikeout total of the season in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Twins. Manaea pitched seven innings, allowing just two hits and a walk with 11 strikeouts. The 32-year-old has had a strong season overall, going 7-4 with a 3.50 ERA, an 8.92 K/9 rate, and a 3.66 BB/9 rate in 21 starts and 113 IP. While his performance will sometimes oscillate, Manaea has proven to be a reliable middle-to-back fantasy rotation piece over the past couple of seasons. His next start is slated to be a middling matchup at the Cardinals. Fantasy managers should feel fine starting him in this one given his overall performance this season.
New York Mets starting pitcher Sean Manaea bounced back from early trouble in Friday night's narrow victory against the visiting Colorado Rockies, striking out nine batters over seven strong innings. After serving up a two-run home run to Rockies first baseman Michael Toglia in the second inning, Manaea rebounded to produce his third consecutive quality start for the Mets with his sixth win of the year on five hits (two homers) and one walk alongside a season-high 107 pitches. The 32-year-old veteran left-hander is at risk of being traded away at the deadline later in July, but he's been quite dependable during his first season in Queens with a 3.46 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and 96:40 K:BB through 96 1/3 frames (18 starts) in New York's solid rotation. Fantasy managers should be rooting for Manaea to stay put at pitcher-friendly Citi Field.
New York Mets left-hander Sean Manaea picked up the win in his team's 12-2 win over the New York Yankees on Wednesday. Manaea threw five scoreless innings while allowing two hits, striking out three, and walking five in the outing. While the many walks are concerning from a fantasy perspective, fantasy managers will take the win from the lefty. Manaea now has a 5-3 record, 3.89 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and 76 strikeouts over 76 1/3 innings of work this season.
