Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed reliever Brusdar Graterol (shoulder) underwent right-shoulder surgery on his labrum on Thursday and was operated on by Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Graterol is expected to return to the mound in the second half of the 2025 season as a result. The 26-year-old made a return in the postseason to help the Dodgers win the World Series in October, but he missed the vast majority of the 2024 regular season due to right-shoulder issues. The Venezuelan reliever allowed two earned runs while walking two and striking out seven in 7 1/3 innings of work in just seven appearances in his sixth year in the big leagues. He had his best season in 2023, posting a 1.20 ERA with a career-high seven saves in 67 1/3 frames. Graterol will be off the fantasy radar next spring and won't return to LA until after the All-Star break.

Rojas has already said he will need offseason surgery to repair a sports hernia, but will play through the injury and try to provide the Dodgers with stellar defense when he plays. Kevin Kiermaier, Evan Phillips (arm fatigue), and Edgardo Henriquez were removed from the World Series roster to make room for the trio.

As a result, DFS managers should expect Blake Treinen to see a majority of the save opportunities after picking up two in the NLDS, with Daniel Hudson, Evan Phillips, and Michael Kopech also having high-leverage roles.

Since returning from that injury on September 10, he tossed seven clean frames with a near-perfect 0.43 WHIP. Through this small stint, Graterol typically pitched in high-leverage situations in the seventh and ninth innings. This is a tough blow to the Dodger bullpen as they approach the preseason with a starting rotation filled with injuries. Fantasy managers should expect Evan Phillips, Alex Vesia, Michael Kopech, and Daniel Hudson to serve as the late-inning options for the Dodgers during October.

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on Monday that right-handed reliever Brusdar Graterol (hamstring) is likely to be activated from the 15-day injured list on Wednesday before the game against the visiting Chicago Cubs. Graterol will return to the back end of the Dodgers' bullpen this week after suffering a Grade 3 right-hamstring strain on Aug. 7. He showed how dominant he could be in a late-inning, high-leverage relief role in 2023 when he had a 1.20 ERA, a 0.96 WHIP, a career-high seven saves and 48 strikeouts in 67 1/3 regular-season innings. But injuries have reared their head again in 2024, and Graterol has only thrown one-third of an inning in the big leagues with the Dodgers this year. There's a good chance the Dodgers ease Graterol into their bullpen now that he's healthy again. If Graterol can get back to his 2023 form for the postseason, though, the Dodgers would be very happy.
