Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. continued to tear the cover off the ball on Thursday, going 2-for-4 with a homer, a double, and two RBI in a 7-1 win over the Detroit Tigers. Witt also walked and scored twice to round out his line. He has been on an absolute heater since July started, slashing .489/.520/.833 with seven homers in the month. He has now hit safely in 14 games in a row and 22 of his last 23 games. There are endless ways to describe how the 24-year-old is playing, but the best way to put it is that he is giving Aaron Judge a run for A.L. MVP, something that would've been a ridiculous thought just a month ago.
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. went 4-for-5 with four runs batted in during Monday's 8-5 win at the Chicago White Sox. Witt hit his 19th homer, a grand slam in the top of the eighth, that capped off a game that included his 30th double, a pair of singles, and two runs scored. Witt leads the majors with a .347 average, is second with 87 runs scored, and is fourth with a .988 OPS while driving in 75 runs and adding 23 stolen bases. Few players are delivering the manner Witt has for fantasy managers, as he bids for a 30-homer, 30-stolen base campaign.
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. continued his outstanding offensive season in Monday's 10-4 win over the Diamondbacks. Witt Jr. went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, and a three-run home run. He was also hit by a pitch. The 24-year-old clobbered a fourth-inning Miguel Castro sinker into the center-field seats to put the Royals up by two. Witt Jr. has managed to exceed his very high fantasy expectations so far, slashing .341/.387/.592 with 18 HR, 82 runs scored, 69 RBI, and 22 stolen bases in 442 plate appearances. His batting average is just two points behind Steven Kwan's for the best in baseball, and the Royals' strong overall offensive performance has helped Witt Jr. perform as a true five-category fantasy threat.
Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. literally fell just shy of the 2024 Home Run Derby championship Monday in Globe Life Field. The 24-year-old faced Teoscar Hernandez in the final round and needed 14 long balls to tie. With 13 tallied, Witt Jr.'s final swing hit off the left-center wall, making him just short of tying things up. Regardless of the outcome, it was a strong showing for the first-time All-Star. Witt Jr. was even better than fantasy managers expected in the first half of the season, providing everything with a .323/.369/.558 slash line, 16 HR, 75 runs scored, 63 RBI, and 22 stolen bases in 425 plate appearances.
Kansas City Royals shortstop continued his monstrous run on Sunday, going 3-for-5 with a double, a homer, two runs scored, and three RBI. Witt Jr. went deep in the ninth with the game already out of reach to boost up his stats a little more, something his fantasy owners won't mind at all. The 24-year-old has been on an absolute tear of late, going 15-for-28 with nine runs, three homers, and eight RBI in his last six games. The MVP candidate has a strong chance to go 30/30 again this year, and he will have much stronger run, RBI, and AVG totals to go with it this time around. He might be the best player in fantasy baseball and is undoubtedly in the top five.
